I am currently watching Netflix and uploading the photos onto my blog made it lag. So here is a link to some pics of my finished forces.18/06/2016 at 23:07 #43583
UCS (United Commonwealth of Systems) forces (although I might make the infantry belong to someone else because they are my favourite). These are the government forces. The UCS was originally formed by the Original Colonies to throw off the shackles of old Earth governments. Life on the colonies gave humanity a chance for a fresh start, to put aside their old prejudices and differences be it race, religion, creed. They successfully did this, and the power of Earth diminished, being left behind as a backwards world that while economically important, was not a key player in interstellar politics.
As time went on the UCS grew, and it was decided that their prejudice-free way of doing things should be “encouraged” on all of the colonies. This brought them into conflict with newer colonies who did not want to be under the rule of any interstellar government. It also leads to the occasional clash with the mega-corporations who have their own military wings and often govern clusters of their own colonies.
Above are the New Charon colonial militia. Equipped with outdated, yet reliable CSMP (Close Support Missile Platform) walkers, they are employed to keep peace and prevent incursion from government or corporate forces. However, if faced with a full scale invasion they would be swept away. New Charon is a colony established and governed by the Freehold, a group of quasi-religious humans who were looking to escape the bureaucracy and in-fighting of the UCS (United Commonwealth of Systems).

And so the cycle of control and dominion begins again!
What make are the infantry at the bottom, I like them!19/06/2016 at 19:09 #43601
Very nice paintjobs 🙂
I can’t wait to see the UCS get into it with the corps!19/06/2016 at 20:18 #4360320/06/2016 at 16:23 #43619
Looks amazing matey. Excellent narrative too! You’ve inspired me to finally glue together and undercoat my forces. Keep up the updates coming!26/06/2016 at 14:16 #4384226/06/2016 at 14:43 #43843
Excellent, I too have some paracetamol packets on my workbench!

I am excited for my AB order to arrive in the next few days.
I am excited for some birthday cash so I can make an order of CinC Solar Empire miniatures (I have quite a long list of wants from that site).
Tonight I will be finishing off my extension to my modular interior terrain, so I can hopefully get a game of Starport Scum in.
I might also finish my Brigade Models original infantry to give myself another faction to fight with.
I need more terrain: hills and trees. Hills will be fairly easy to make with cork board. Trees need to be bought.01/07/2016 at 11:09 #4406910/07/2016 at 22:43 #4479711/07/2016 at 00:28 #44799
I think that you’ll be very pleased with the SEM models, they are very nice!11/07/2016 at 05:53 #44805

I now have some more people to populate my universe.
Security force/New Charon Militia?
Rhoro Tharik’s crew without armour? Not sure yet.28/07/2016 at 10:10 #45567
Things on the bench (bay windowsill, but who is being picky). Jungle stands that need flocking, resin buildings in need of more life, bar furniture that needs work, a space craft in need of paint, roads, and urban area tiles, so my colonies look more build up.

I like what I see, you keep busy don’t you 😉28/07/2016 at 21:09 #45592
Ooh, like the jungle bases and the spaceship!
Are those Deamonscape buildings?

That spaceship looks really cool. Tell us more about it.29/07/2016 at 08:30 #45617
What do you want to know? I haven’t got a story behind the craft in world, but I can say how it is made. Main hull is a deodorant roll on stick. The boosters at the back are bits of crap I picked up off my classroom floor. The wing boosters are lid’s from baby food packets, attached via the things you put into the wall to screw screws in. LandIng pad is just a clip from a trouser hanger that is just a metal horseshoe shape. All attached with Green stuff because I haven’t got a drill big enough for pins or more sturdy things.29/07/2016 at 19:27 #4564230/07/2016 at 07:49 #45658
Well, the basic form of the ship looks really cool for a bunch of “repurposed” stuff. Some extra details & stuff could make it almost iconic, at least amongst these pages. I’m sure by the time you finish it there will be an interesting backstory for it.03/08/2016 at 08:48 #45789

A couple of pictures and some musing about Horizon Wars are up on the blog. I managed to have a game with a real opponent and we just played around a bit with the rules. It was a nice little game, and was cool to see my miniatures being taken for a spin on my terrain.04/08/2016 at 23:33 #45888

I am sure there is more to the story than that, but we happen to be local to each other. He is interested in Horizon Wars and I think was looking for information about it while I was posting about it. It worked out very well.05/08/2016 at 06:45 #45896
It’s nice to have a game against a real opponent every now and then, looks like you had fun 🙂14/08/2016 at 12:56 #46520
Finished some beautiful armour.
Also some civilian vehicles.
There are also more photos of other miniatures on the blog: http://inexperiencedmodelmaker.blogspot.co.uk/2016/08/tanks-mechs-and-civilian-vehicles.html but these are the ones I wanted to show here. The rest have been seen before, just finally finished.14/08/2016 at 13:11 #46521
I have some of the BM trucks too, they are very handy.07/11/2016 at 20:34 #52027
Managed to get some painting done last night. It was the first time I have put brush to miniature since the summer, with my only other hobby time recently being: going to Colours 16, and playing a short game with some teenagers on Wednesday that did not get finished as they were too interested in their phones.
Anyhoo, here are some photos on the blog of my UCS marines.09/11/2016 at 14:03 #52107
Interesting stuff. You have so much going on I wish I had the time to catch up reading. Certainly enough to keep you busy.
Hats off to you just finding the time.31/05/2017 at 22:22 #63667
Dead Topic? Here is a picture of my latest project. Just painting up more forces for Horizon Wars (and other rule sets). These are my New Vesta Defence Force, tasked with protecting three planets in the New Vesta system, keeping order, and generally just being there just in case. More on my blog.31/05/2017 at 22:52 #6366901/06/2017 at 05:23 #63689
A nice looking bunch!
What else do you have planned for the NVDF? I assume they will have some armour and maybe even air support?02/06/2017 at 22:53 #63940
A nice looking bunch! What else do you have planned for the NVDF? I assume they will have some armour and maybe even air support?
There are plans for some light armour, but nothing too extreme. The NVDF works primarily as units of infantry. They have some pretty good infantry portable heavy weapons.
They will also get some gunships when I get my act together and order some air miniatures.03/06/2017 at 08:47 #63971
I see, wouldn’t want to be the one sent in to root them out when they all dig in, at least not without some artillery for support!
I’m guessing the UCS marines are going to be the main opponent? I saw the IWM mechs on the blog as well, very nice pieces.
Looking forward to seeing these guys in action 🙂03/06/2017 at 21:13 #64022
I am not convinced the UCS Marines would even get out of bed to tackle a local defence force. It is more likely that the marines would act almost as a UN response force if another aggressor overwhelmed the NVDF.
The IWM mecha are going to be mercenary and/or criminal machines. Some may be experimental prototypes. I want to get them onto the tabletop soon. They just have the look of being unique.
