They look even better with the flocking. 🙂
I have to agree with all of you, the SEM, marines in particular, are very good sculpts.02/07/2017 at 16:16 #66255
Sunspoke Mining Company security. These professionals chose to remain behind when Sunspoke pulled the plug on the mine. Quite a few farming communities remained behind and these brave souls chose to remain also to provide law enforcement to those communities.02/07/2017 at 18:00 #66262
A commendable set of people, the inhabitants will no doubt be glad to have them when things go south!02/07/2017 at 19:36 #66268

One can never have too much terrain 🙂
Good start on these, looking forward to seeing them in their finished state. To “bury” the artefacts you might want to consider using something like wood filler or caulk to build up the base around them before flocking.
And was that some 6mm normandie action I saw just at the end?29/07/2017 at 14:31 #68731
Yeah I have an experimental 6mm WW2 project going on. I don’t enjoy painting them as much though because there are more colours. But I have had a dozen sets of rules gathering dust that I would like to use. Also WW2 was my first love and I miss it, but 20mm larger battles require more space than I have.29/07/2017 at 15:08 #68734greg954Participant

what are you saying Mike? That those Sunspoke security could be a bit dodgy?
Thuseld, when you paint WW2. Do base the colours on history and perhaps research it first. Or what ever and just make it? Like what I do with my Scfi stuff.

Yeah, don’t trust ’em.29/07/2017 at 22:22 #68799

Greg, my WW2 infantry are painted with proper WW2 colours. I am using the same schemes as my 20mm WW2 used, but I miss out belts and straps and stuff. Sci fi is all made up.29/07/2017 at 22:26 #6880030/07/2017 at 07:18 #68810
Tasty tasty mechs 🙂
Love the snippets of backstory, now I’d love to see the Twins fight the Crimson skulls!09/08/2017 at 09:50 #69526
“Join us in Paradise or we’ll send you to Hell”
With a strap line like that, it is no wonder the Neo Christian Union took their followers and retreated to fringe space. Whether to avoid persecution or because their extreme views are unwelcome to many civilised people across known space, it was decided to colonise a system of planets out of the way. God willed it.
That was a long time ago. The Paradise system became something of a Bermuda triangle and was to be avoided. In recent decades, however, NCU Missionary Forces have been spotted pushing further out of the Paradise system. Missionary outposts have been found on a number of planets nearby including New Charon.09/08/2017 at 10:00 #69530
A cool force, but where are the banners and crosses 😉
The color scheme has a nice contrast to it.09/08/2017 at 10:22 #69533
Deus Vult! A cool force, but where are the banners and crosses The color scheme has a nice contrast to it.
Good question. I didn’t want to make them overtly religious looking in case I want to use them for something else. But now you mention crosses I might add some in. Depends though. I wanted to play with them tomorrow and won’t be painting tonight as it is my wedding anniversary.09/08/2017 at 10:26 #69534
Very cool, smells a bit like Heresy to me though!
😀09/08/2017 at 10:27 #69535
Just food for thought, there is much to be said for keeping things multi-purpose.
Congrats on the anniversary!25/08/2017 at 13:33 #70394
Introducing the gang. I only have one character back story ready, but am working on the others. Any ideas welcome.25/08/2017 at 19:56 #70421
Ooh, starport scum you say. My interest is piqued! While I don’t wish anything bad to happen to Flint, I’d have to admit to being happy to see him in some sort of trouble 🙂26/08/2017 at 22:44 #7047226/09/2017 at 20:26 #72444
UCS infantry from Brigade Models (PacFed infantry) on the go. Also an assortment of new vehicles. These are Heroics and Ros modern vehicles, but I am going to use them for Sci Fi purposes.26/09/2017 at 21:09 #72445
Nice additions, the infantry looks properly militaristic 🙂
Anything planned in the mech or Aero departments, or is this going to be a strictly conventional force?28/09/2017 at 21:26 #72622
The UCS infantry already have mechs that they are using. I did try and order some more mechs and aircraft from EM4 games, but paypal did not like it. I will probably try and order more again this weekend.29/09/2017 at 09:20 #72652
Right you are, had forgot that it seems
The EM-4 are great, mechs and aerospace both, you can never have too many I suppose 🙂27/10/2017 at 23:04 #75023
Some call them NPCs, I call them cannon fodder. I present some Scum for my Starports.28/10/2017 at 05:38 #75032
No such thing as too much cannonfodder 😉

I would say you are correct about Han Solo, I struggle to see an other inspiration for that particular miniature.
As for Indiana Jones? Not so sure as he has no whip, but I imagine he is inspired from somewhere.01/11/2017 at 07:49 #75353StroezieParticipant
Very nice job on those!!!
I must say I always saw him as Indy to( I’ll have to convert one to carry a whip now ), and the female figure in that same set as Lara Croft for that matter.
That set of figures is very movie inspired, and one of their best for character minis imo.
