The troops colors look good to me, excellent even.

16/12/2018 at 19:11 #105896greg954Participant“Hay Vasques, have you ever been mistaken for a man?”
”No, have you?”
Looking good the troops look fine to me too.
12/05/2019 at 12:56 #114423ThuseldParticipantHere we have a new direction for basing. I am annoyed because it looks promising for individual figures but I have so many now based on One euro cent coins.
Also dinosaurs.

17/05/2019 at 07:39 #114681ThuseldParticipantI basically found a bunch of miniatures that I forgot I had purchased at some point last year, which included the RDF guys and the AB characters. I have always wanted to have the RDF guys painted since my earliest days of 6mm sci fi. Will they be related to the dinosaurs? Maybe. I have been reading back and looking at all my unfinished campaigns from before. There is room for exploration and discovery.

21/05/2019 at 21:59 #114975ThuseldParticipantNew blog with figures for Starport Scum. There is a new Horizon Wars faction up there too. A good evening. I also spent a while painting the base edges of most of my individually based figures. That was one hell of a chore. Looking forward to getting some games going.

21/05/2019 at 22:09 #114976MikeKeymasterVanguard Company is a small group of mercenaries who will hire themselves out to protect colonists. Often forgoing payment, these grizzled veterans have been to the edge of space, seen the chaos that exists, and are determined to keep that chaos away from the innocent.
These guys remind me of the A Team!

02/06/2019 at 12:06 #115674greg954ParticipantI’ve replaced countless spot/down lighter bulbs over the years. Never once did I realise the up cycling potential.
Looking forward to seeing more of this.
02/06/2019 at 13:58 #115676ThuseldParticipantThanks. I am starting with simple trash that I can stick down, but will move on to more detail as I get more inspiration. Doors are something I keep forgetting even though I have things to use as doorways. I might also need to print out some sci fi doors to glue on as I can’t be dealing with purchasing doors.

04/06/2019 at 21:27 #115847greg954ParticipantYou do like to mix manufacturers like me. The Stalwarts do work well I must admit, probably because if my memory serves. Those vehicles where designed to be amphibious? Hence the boaty/scfi shape. Might get some.
GHQ are bring out a Jackal. Looks really detailed, but like a lot of GHQ stuff might be on the small side. Not sure how they scale up next to H&R.
04/06/2019 at 21:35 #115849ThuseldParticipantAs much as I love the detail of GHQ models, I find the price to be prohibitive. I also find the H&R miniatures to be small compared to my sci fi figures from other manufacturers, but I make them work. Mixing manufacturers is what keeps it all fresh to me, allowing me to make up my own universe and hope no-one notices that they drive Leopard IIs, BTR 70s, Ferrets, AMX 30s, Toyota pickups or Challenger IIs. A jazzy enough paint job hopefully masks that.

05/06/2019 at 10:50 #115866Deleted UserMemberI like your use of everyday item, it’s inspiring. Also like how you mix mini range, for some reason I really like the non uniform look of the infantry.
05/06/2019 at 14:35 #115872ThuseldParticipantMost of my other infantry is pretty uniform, just these pirates and another mercenary group have infantry in random armour. They basically scrounge whatever they can and use it.
Use of everyday items help keep costs down, help me be creative, and is easy to make work in a Sci Fi setting. That being said, I am looking at some Timecast Vietnam style raised huts to act as a hidden, off the grid colony/base of operations, which may end up costing a little.

You are right about the mechs being IWM battle armour. I think it was the Deltavector blog that introduced me to that line and I made a couple of orders back in the day. I have since run out though so need to make another order at some point. They are such glorious miniatures and are a good size for small single pilot mechs.
I am glad with the colour scheme of my complex so far. I am looking forward to going at it with a rusty colour and just general grime and dirt. I have then three more potential tiles, but want to get my technique correct before committing to more. Though, needless to say I have plenty of junk lying around to use to create them.

14/06/2019 at 15:01 #116345Darkest Star GamesParticipantI will blame you when my wife explodes.
Well, she’s got 2 choices: be a player in the game or be part of the terrain! I tell my wife that if she is going to stand there, she better either pick a side to play or stand real still so I can airlift some troops to the top of her head so I can get the defensive bonus. (admittedly this often does not go over well as the first time I tried it some figure got tangled in her hair…)
Those mechs look right proper aggressive, really nicely done.

15/06/2019 at 23:27 #116399ThuseldParticipantPretty much finished. I am happy to have them on my table soon. Now to make the final three, and paint up the one that I have neglected.
