ParticipantIf you paint them green they look a lot like Alliance Legend of the Galactic Heroes ships.
Tired is enough.

ParticipantMonths of nothing followed by an almost finished project. Having a new baby, and a stressful time at work ironically made it difficult to find time for myself (when I likely needed it most).
Here is my domed agricultural facility.

ParticipantIs the yellow one SpongeBob and the other Sandy? 🙂
Works very well, I like it a lot. And congrats on the baby! I found that when my daughter was born one of the easiest ways for me to have hobby time was to put her in a bouncing chair on the floor when she was sleepy so I could rock it with one foot while gluing/building/painting. …till she woke up again anyways!

ParticipantNice. I do like those GZG trucks. They just ooze sci-fi from my childhood.
I am pretty sure I first saw them on your settlement where the wall is made from keyboard keys. They are very 60s / 70s sci fi in my opinion.
It has been nice getting back into things over the past couple of weeks. Last night I managed to put a few layers of paint onto a few things. It felt superb.

ParticipantBlock Houses. Upcycling old wooden building blocks. This is my second attempt at turning these blocks into terrain. I think this one might stick.

ParticipantLooks like a good start to me.
One thing I have struggled with for years is that due to my profession and preconceptions I have a heck of a time just making buildings. I always end up trying to make them too realistic in both size and design and they end up not working well for gaming. Yourself and OldBen, among others, make these awesome buildings out of odds and sods and they always look just amazing. I think I need to meditate and then just embrace the greeblieness.

I doubt that you are alone in this. Most wargames rules play fast and lose with ground scale as opposed to figure height. So a building that looks correct next to the figures is actually taking up the ground space that would make it at least a hamlet.
I think think you have to ignore the area of the table they cover and just make sure the building looks ‘right’ compared to the figures. Then the wargamer can gloss over the issue of scales. 🙂

With Sci FI buildings I find that I can throw things together just fine, and if I hate it then it just ends up in the bin. My main struggle with terrain is when it comes to historical wargaming. Does this building look like it fits in this part of the world at this time? Can I even make one? Then I just stop and all progress ceases.
Thanks for the kind words though. There is a person over on Facebook who has made some really good modular interior floor tiles that feel right with 6mm. I have struggled for a long time to make anything that looks passable, so was glad to be inspired by someone else.
