The USN is considering using the Tomahawk land attack cruise missile in a Antiship capacity, with a F18 acting in a midcourse guidance roll.
I thought it already had that capability using course correction based on data sent back from its own onbord INS and TNS. Also I was wondering why The Navy did not consider a UCAV for midcourse guidance instead of a manned platform , wasn’t that the reason for investing in the UCAV in the first place?

I never realized TASM had been withdrawn from service.  Is it some sort of stopgap measure until next generation weapons can come online?

IIRC the TASM only had a nuke warhead…
