I haven’t built an Airfix kit in years, but I’m sooo tempted.

    Hope I don’t get rebuked for advertising a manufacturer’s wares 🙂

Likewise, that is actually quite tempting.

Same for me – and it´s good to see that people here have the same taste of music.

I turned away from metal quite early in life, largely as a reaction to growing up in a somewhat insular cultural milieu (Finns in Sweden) that was perpetually overdosing on the bloody stuff. That said, the aesthetic tradition of “classic” metal album artwork is an aspect of nerd culture that I can easily get behind. So, even I’m feeling a slight pull toward that Airfix kit. But given that it’s a limited edition, I’m probably not “worthy”

I have zero interest in ‘metal’ music of any kind, but if I see this kit anywhere I’m buying one.  I’m guessing that it’s the standard kit so it won’t look exactly like Motorhead’s version with the ventral turrets.

Surely not. Such a thing would only happen in some sort of bedlam, run by a crackpot…..if one existed.

I’ll always remember the first time I heard “Ace of Spades”.  Got to meet old Lemz in LA back in the early 2000’s at this dive.  Dude was wearing “daisy duke” style cut-off jean shorts and a cowboy hat, parked in front of a electronic casino machine.  Was a fun chat for a couple of hours, and I was amazed that at his age he could still command the attention of so many young and pretty girls.  Was also surprised he played Lionel Richie on the juckebox!

The only HE111 model I’ve had was 1/48 back in the mid 80’s, Monogram I think?  Used enamel colors recommended by the hobby shop guy to do a desert look, and he botched the “desert” color.  Ended up very pinkish with green bush splats!   Not quite the look I was intending, so gave it a “viking funeral” via BB gun.  Looking back, there are many models I wish I hadn’t done that too, stupid youthful waste.

Certainly it might be doing a disservice to all involved parties to categorically define Motörhead as “metal”. But even the Airfix product description insists on doing it.

Well I certainly couldn’t define ‘metal’ music, but I did discover a few weeks ago that I am apparently a fan of ‘Yacht Music’.

Lemmy always insisted they weren’t metal….just a rock ‘n’ roll band.  I saw them on the Bomber tour at Leeds Queens Hall…a tramshed!  So I’m on “No Sleep ’til Hammersmith.

The bomber was a light gantry that “flew” out over the crowd.

Collected my ‘Motorhead bomber’ this afternoon.  I doubt that the box will ever be opened, let alone the kit be built, in my lifetime.  But I just had to have one!
