Happened to go into a model railroad/die cast car shop near the bakery where I bought lunch today and walked out with:
Guide to Solo Wargaming by Stuart Asquith
Wargaming in History The Second Anglo-Boer War by Edwin Herbert
Wargaming the Second World War by Stuart Asquith
A pre-assembled, unpainted plastic warehouse building that looks about the right size for 15mm figs
Two unpainted 25mm samurai cavalry of unknown pedigree
All of this in a beaten-up metal Vickers ammo box for R390 (the equivalent of about 20GBP).
Awesome

I’m so jealous! Where in SA is this?

Edenvale, JHB. Not sure how well you know Edenvale Olaf, but if you do know Edenvale you probably know De Bakery – the windmill bakery on Van Riebeeck street. The little toy shop is just around the corner.
Was really happy with my haul; I would have paid more than that just for the Vickers ammo box. Now just need to prevent my wife from stealing the box to use for her sewing things 🙂

Edenvale? Yup, I used to work near there. Haven’t been there in 15 years, though.
Hmmm- preventing the SO from using the Vickers box? Buy her one for her own use! 😉
