I started TWW almost 8 years ago and in that time I have not raised prices for either of the membership levels.
    I don’t intend to.

Having said that, hosting costs have increased since those early days by a lot, security costs have also increased as has cost of living.

TWW has never been a viable replacement for a regular job, not even when I ran one of the miniatures companies along side it.

Some of you may be aware of the issues we face as a family, the primary challenge being our daughter.
Well we have just received confirmation that the local authority will pay her fees to attend a school that specialises in helping children like her.
So that is great, it was with this in mind I sold Crom’s Anvil.
This would free me up to get a regular 9-5 and we could both be earning.

However Samantha’s mother who has a degenerative condition is no longer able to care for herself and needs close to full time care, so we are in the process of selling our home to try and buy a bigger one.
We are in the process of buying a larger house but the only way we could afford that is to move away from the local amenities and to buy a run down house.
If we do get the house then my plan to go and get a 9-5 will no longer be an option as I will instead spend a few years fixing the house up and making it viable.

So with all these added pressures and costs, money is tight for us, as no doubt it is for many of you.

Having said that I am still not planning on increasing membership costs.

So what is the point of this waffle?

I would be very grateful if you could share the word about TWW and see if your mates want to come and be part of our community and help make it bigger and better.
Also financial contributions are always welcome, maybe you could take out a paid membership, some people even have several to help.
I have also added a donation link on the Membership page incase you have a burst of mad generosity.

Anyway, thanks to you all that are here and I appreciate your patronage!

Mike, I just wanted to say that I would be a paid member, but Paypal has suspended my account and I stopped bothering to deal with it last summer.

Well, I’m more than happy to give TWW a few pennies every month.  I find my fellow forum inhabitants quite agreeable, polite and knowledgeable.  Even if some of their painting makes my attempts look like a toddler’s finger painting exercise, I shall continue to wander over here pretty much daily.

Considering the enjoyment and inspiration I get here, and when I consider the amount of figures (and probably never paint) and rules (that I’ll never play) that I buy, it’s really not much to be a paying member in the greater scheme of things.

I have mentioned this site to my friends, and sometimes share links to pertinent discussions.

Despite the fact that the Government has only increased my pension by 3.1% (IIRC), at a time of 8% inflation (and rising), I see that your situation is more deserving than mine, and so I have subscribed.  Best Wishes to you and your family Mike.
