I am sad to report that well known wargamer and former editor of Practical Wargamer Stuart Asquith passed away last night. Many will remember his delight at encouraging newcomers into the hobby with simple rules and a fun attitude. pic.twitter.com/gkO4K5D9Hr

Obvious contrarian and passive aggressive old prat, who is taken far too seriously by some and not seriously enough by others.
A sad loss and a true gent.
Sad news, I know he was actively gaming recently. His magazine ‘Practical Wargamer’ was a real cornerstone to my hobby. Condolences to all who were close to him.
I was only talking to Stuart on the 1st September at Keith Flint’s Cotswold gaming day, Steve P and me gave him a lift to his house just up the road. A great loss to the hobby a man who inspired me from the start of the 70’s. Condolences to all his family.
Yes, condolences to his friends and family.

That is such sad news. I have really enjoyed a number of his books and articles over the years. And I will always chuckle when I recall some of his advice: “the best place for an army list is under a wonky table leg…”
I too am very sad to hear this – a true loss to our hobby. May he rest in peace.
