Being American I have no frame of reference for how AVBCW could historically have happened (all of my UK friends seem to adore the Royal Family) but I find the subject both fascinating and repellent. Seems to sort of be a War of the Roses, but with modern weapons…

Yes, the original idea was very much a War of the Roses concept, inspired largely by Ian McKellen’s brilliant 1930s-style film of Richard III. For me it just gives me an opportunity to exaggerate the sillier aspects of British culture and my own family and local history.
