On Caldoom a sentrybot has gone feral and is lurking in the middle of an electromagnetic anomaly. Good luck on finding it then.

Sometimes you have to dress properly because the wabbits play rough 🙂

Jim, another brilliant scenario. One of my favourites so far. The background story really makes it for me. Rouge robot in a swamp with an area anomaly – what’s not to like!

    I noticed this rule,

To fire at over assault rifle range, firer needs to be prone or resting the weapon.

    that’s I cool idea.

    Thanks for sharing this scenario.

The assault rifle rule does make sense. When you think about it,  machineguns firing an intermediate cartridge normally have a longer effective range than assault rifles firing the same cartridge. Of you’re prone or resting the weapon, you are giving your assault rifle some of the advantages of a light machinegun

Glad you liked hunting the sentrybot. The background was just a combination of evil ideas from both Ali and I 🙂

    Another great scenario Jim.

I’m working on a similar scenario for 5 Parsecs (on the assumption that eventually my house will turn back from a building site and storage for other peoples stuff into a home!). An assault bot, supporting Imperial marines in an operation to take out a Sump gang getting too big for it’s boots, is hit by a scrambler round and goes rogue. Out in the Deep Dark there are whole colonies of rogue drones building drone hives and preying on passing ships and small colonies nearby so the Imperium likes to stamp hard on this sort of thing lest it get out of hand.

I may “borrow” a couple of ideas from this scenario.

Growing old is mandatory, growing up is entirely optional!

Feel free to borrow, who knows where the genesis of my idea came from 🙂

    Glad you enjoyed it

I felt the title did justice to the deeply serious examination of tactical issues the scenario presents 😉
