So, I’ve been wanting to do some Weird WWII skirmish gaming and trying to decide on what rules to use. I have a set of the Incursion (based on Secrets of the Third Reich) metal minis, plus various DUST Tactics Allies & Axis. I like the Incursion board game, but I’m looking to use a different set of rules. Two of the Nordic Weasel sets that I have are 5 Core 3rd Edition (plus Parsecs) and Clash on the Fringe (CotF). While CotF is more sci-fi based, I think that may be the ruleset that I use. Now, I just need to stat up the figures.
If you don’t want to write a whole lot, you can probably use a lot of the profiles as is, just renaming things.
I’ve tested Clash for straight up WW2 and it worked pretty well, so “weird war” shouldn’t be a problem.
What’s the most outrageous model you need stats for?
Also, I should add, as it is now, reaction fire is kind of limited (1 in 10 chance of a hit) because for space adventure, I didn’t want it to be very effective.
Depending on how “ww2” you want your weird war to be, you might wish to tweak that.
A lot of people take reaction shots at -2 or at half skill.
Thanks for the suggestions, Ivan! The generic soldiers that I have should be able to use current profiles, with maybe a tweak here or there. The “heroes” may be slightly more difficult, but certainly manageable. CotF has a lot of options, so I’m confident that I easily come up with some stats. The hardest one to stat may be Hans the Hunter. A mutant dude wearing a diving helmet and carries a harpoon gun.
Now, I just need some time to get all my thoughts organized. And paint more of the minis.
