ParticipantHi, just found this on Fbook so I thought I’d join.
My main interest in this period is the wars of Chinggis Khan and his immediate successors, in particular the European Campaign. Most of my wargaming in this period is in 10mm and I have Mongols, Chinese, Khwaizmians and Polish. I also have a blog at:
http://thewordsofsubedai.blogspot.co.uk/
which is occasionally updated as and when I remember.

ParticipantNice blog Mick.
I like your terrain. Mounting the buildings on their own ‘diorama’ base is very effective.
On a separate note. Are we including the Dark Ages here or in Ancients? I reckon here might be best….

ParticipantMick, I really like your articles in MW/BG, great work! And very nice terrain on your blog.
Concerning Dark Ages, I’d vote for including them here – if only for selfish reasons: I’m about to start an El Cid project which sits right in between DA and medievals (if you believe the WRG periodisation), and I’d rather pester you in this board with my questions…

ParticipantThanks for the comments lads, all feedback is appreciated.
I would also include the Dark Ages here mainly because although historically, it is classed as a distinctly separate period, to my mind it leans more towards inclusion with Medieval rather than Ancient. After all, WRG didn’t write history, they just conveniently categorised it for us to fit in with their rules.

ParticipantIn academic history, there is no Dark Ages anyway, it’s all subsumed into the medieval period.

ParticipantAnother vote for Dark Ages in here.

KeymasterI would say DA in here too.
The thing is, I don’t really want a million boards.
Best fit should be enough for people to find their favourite period, but also the use of tags in posts will help people search for topics they like, even if they are in the wrong board.
So if DA is all you like, stick a DA or Dark Age tag in every post you do and fellow lovers of the period will find it.03/08/2014 at 21:43 #3062Cerdic
ParticipantSounds like ‘motion carried’!

ParticipantToo many boards is a bad idea. Medieval to cover the late DA (say 1066) to Bastard Feudalism (say 1500) is fine by me. I like the diversity in a board so that I might be inspired by something I wouldn’t normally look for – I’m personally not that interested in the DA but I might be if inspired by the posts of others – put it on a DA board and I wouldn’t see it because I’d probably never go there. Spice of life, and all that.
My whoring and daubing:

Depends on whether you class this as Early Medieval or Late Antiquity. Still, I agree DA belongs with Medieval…………………..possibly 🙂
