That’s a wonderful chance for somebody, somebody else, not me*

I mean it’s a hobby – the minute there’s pressure to stick to an artificial timetable, I’m pretty much off. Had a lifetime of deadlines that got shorter and shorter as the job went on – now it’s feet up and slide time – skate city man.

I am of course incredibly supportive of anyone else who needs to make a rod for their own back!

*If any of you young folk are wondering – that’s from Somebody Else Not Me as sung by Pee Wee Hunt and his orchestra 1948, Capitol.

There was me, expecting to see an unfinished, tiny Jenna Ortega…

    But here we go-

Baal and the Sirrush, from Fenris Games, been sitting around for far too long, so I thought I’d better get on with them. This week’s target: finish putting them together, fill the gaps and pinholes and prime.

    We’ll see…

This might help stop me from procrastinating. That’s the enemy, how many projects have gone unfinished? How big does the lead pile need to be before action is taken? I don’t mind a bit of focus.

4 x 32mm Grimdark warriors to finish. Maybe by next Wednesday, who knows.

    The archers are undercoated….   😐
    SO that is technically progress.

However, I have started making some smaller pieces of terrain.
WFB 3rd edition has rules for randomly generating terrain and I have never used it, so to remedy that I am making some of the items that could populate the battlefield.
Starting with a small orchard and a cemetery.

The gravestones are removable so when units enter the area the headstones can be removed so the bases can sit flat. The balance between looks and practicality.

A giant ogre from BTD.  Picked it up for a song a bunch of years ago.  It’s finally landed on my paint table.  No paint has actually been applied…other than primer.

So, it turns out that, unsurprisingly, Guy was right all along…

Well I haven’t done anything to my minis featured above. But I haven’t been slacking…no sir……

I’ve done another 3 28mm monsters for my RPG project. I’ve put up (in that section) the Blood Slurper and have a Rot Hag and a Wraith ready to go. So some progress has been had…..yes sir.

I’m with you, Skate City rocks man.

And, also like you, go people, go… beat yourself up with a rod of your own making. 😉

Now, now…some people pay to have such fun.  can you ever have too many opportunities to have such fun?

If it were easy…everyone would do it.

Cheap and Cheerful new bit of terrain as shown in WIP Wednesday earlier, now complete.

Not amazing but does the trick and has removable graves so models in movement trays can be placed inside nice and neatly.

And finally, after setbacks too tedious to mention, I have mostly finished these two conversions. Magnetized head, arms and torso.

I say mostly because I have to apply decals and matt varnish, but otherwise I’m calling these done.

    Magnetized Converted RAFM Gear

Above a kneeling Army CAS-3-Mod-1 Ape combat armor suit.

Below an Airforce CAS-4CP Buster combat armor suit (conversions of RAFM Gears to represent the mecha in the Gate Walker SF trilogy).

Napoleonics etc are lost on me, but I can appreciate the model making, or painting excellence on whatever period of toys that I or others make.

Let’s not make it about it about our preferences for a period.

Just mirrored your response. Nothing else. None of us are as clever as we like to think we are.

Not liking, being aggravated by etc. by my mirroring just makes my point for me.

Given the general antipathy that historical wargamers have for that fantasy sci-fi tosh is understandable, but the wargame hobby is small enough without splintering it further into tinier cliques.

I may be over-sensitive to what was intended as a throwaway gloss to complete a sentence.

my techniques mostly come from Javier’s videos of Dioramabox.  Foam is really simple to texture.  Keeps me from blowing wads on 3d printed buildings!

    No I haven’t, so if you have a link…

Those in my pic are 1/2400 GHQ Micronauts, and I almost threw them out the window. I never want to glue another tiny secondary turret or seaplane again. Ever.

Back to 1/3000 OPC for me 🙂
