I’ve just had one of those odd moments: an email from a customer requesting a change to his order, when I had no memory of that customer placing an order recently. I checked the shop database and found he’d last ordered in June 2009. After emailing to check whether he’d ordered under another name, I thought to check the header of his email: sure enough, sent on 1 June 2009, received 5 August 2014 – a gap of over five years! Some techie can no doubt how this sort of thing occurs. My best up until this point was a gap of a month before an email was finally received.
