I was thinking about dusting off my “South Carolina: Road to Revolution” Matrix game, I am sure some of you guys are looking for a gaming outlet.
Here are the details:
- ZERO Matrix game experience required. If you can write a sentence, you can play a Matrix Game!
- ZERO Knowledge of Pre-Revolutionary South Carolina!
- I think I can handle up to 9 players, the 2 for each faction listed below, plus 1 for the Cherokee. Every player will get an argument per turn.
I am thinking I can handle a turn every 2-3 days.
If you are unfamiliar with Matrix Games you can see informational links here: https://sites.google.com/view/tinmanwargaming/matrix-games
To see the briefings for this game and see what the basic rules are: https://tinmanmatrixgames.blogspot.com/p/intro.html
To see how this played out last time I ran it a couple of years ago and the turn by turn arguments, see here (it is a blog so you will have to scroll back to see it in order): https://tinmanmatrixgames.blogspot.com/
So… Who’s in?!?!?!?!?!
http://jozistinman.blogspot.com/29/03/2020 at 17:29 #133998
Com on guys, don’t make me post this to TMP! If it helps, I am thinking about doing weekly turns, so there is no rush for the players or me…
Take a look at the links above, last time we went 5 turns.

Well I fit the criteria of zero knowledge of pre-revolutionary South Carolina – so I’m game.
Come on guys – if I’m in, you can’t be last!
What else have you got to do while locked down?
This is a great offer we should support.
Thanks JTM30/03/2020 at 00:04 #134008
Thanks! I remember one of you guys had a hankering to be the Cherokee when I ran this a few years ago, now is your chance!
Worst case, Guy, I can run it for just you and I. But I know you guys will jump in! Step Right Up!

I just saw this and yes, please I would like to play.30/03/2020 at 17:30 #134057WhirlwindParticipant

Ok, 3 takers, we’ll leave it open for another day or so!
http://jozistinman.blogspot.com/01/04/2020 at 00:46 #134112
OK, guys, I will leave this open for another day, and we will reconvene here tomorrow evening (US Eastern Time) and I will lay out the ground rules. Any particular roles you guys want? See the link above, I will come up with a briefing for the Cherokee. I would do it tonight but my wife plyed me with G & T’s while we played cards, it was a difficult day of working from home…
If we don’t have a role or two filled, no worries, either my wife or I will fill in arguments and we should be able to roll along without issue.

I’m good with whichever group you give me.01/04/2020 at 02:00 #134118
If you’re still open, I’ll give it a whirl. If Kyote can do it… 😉
But fair warning, I don’t know anything about pre-Revolutionary South Carolina and even less about Matrix Games.

If I can do it so can you Jack.01/04/2020 at 03:11 #134120
Yeah, old man, that’s what I was getting at!
See, Tinman, I’m golden! 😉

Ok Troops, here is the line up:
- Just Jack
- Guy Farrish
- My Cousin Julie (who played in the last game)
- Her husband Shawn
- Their clever high school senior son Daniel
I am luckier than many in that I have a job I can work at from home with little disruption, but it also eats up valuable gaming time. So I think I will be able to handle 1 turn a week. Saturdays are my day I am setting aside for this.
Here is what I propose…
- On Saturday by noon EST, I will post everyone’s roles to the blog (and announce here as well): https://tinmanmatrixgames.blogspot.com/
- You will be directed to your faction’s briefing
- Some factions will have more that one player assigned, each of you can make your own argument every turn.
- After I assign the roles Saturday, We will use Sunday to answer any questions and you guys can turn in your first arguments (don’t worry, you cannot do it wrong!)
- After that the tempo will be: Turn in your argument by Sunday at Midnight EST, I will post results no later than Friday night EST, turn in the next turn’s arguments by Sunday, etc.
Take the time to check out the intro and the turns from last time to get a feel for what to expect, start here and read through the posts in sequence: https://tinmanmatrixgames.blogspot.com/2017/09/player-briefings.html

I’m read on; wow, that’s a lot different than what I was expecting, but interesting, can’t wait to see how this goes.
If you want to email directly you can reach me at big jack mac at hot mail dot com .

I love a challenge!04/04/2020 at 16:35 #134258
Ok guys, we will be managing the game via my blog here: https://tinmanmatrixgames.blogspot.com/2020/04/new-game-kickoff.html
Go ahead and see the instructions there and all the briefings and info you need.
Good luck and god speed!

We get slapped around, but we have a good time!04/04/2020 at 20:34 #134265
Thaddeus, you are… IN! You can be another Backcountry Farmer. I am updating the blog now, check it out and get your argument in!

And deputy! I wonder if we are going to end up arguing against each other…
is co-ordination anticipated / encouraged / allowed?
https://hereticalgaming.blogspot.co.uk/05/04/2020 at 13:02 #134298
Yes, I wondered that!
I went ahead on the basis of what is probably a poor reading of the instruction:
‘Some factions will have more that one player assigned, each of you can make your own argument every turn.’
which after a second’s thought doesn’t actually prevent coordinated, joined up action does it?
Wonder what the umpire intended?05/04/2020 at 14:21 #134302
Hey kyote! You are a back country farmer with Thaddeus.
You guys are welcome to collaborate.
Just getting rolling this morning, will update you guys on how many orders have come in shortly
http://jozistinman.blogspot.com/05/04/2020 at 18:27 #134308
I guess I will piggyback on Thaddeus’s arguments for now. Thaddeus sent you a pm on Facebook.05/04/2020 at 23:41 #134317
Good deal, Kyote. His argument is extensive to say the least, I think you will like it
http://jozistinman.blogspot.com/06/04/2020 at 03:31 #134321
Ok troops, all arguments are in, I will adjudicate and post results tomorrow evening
