Hello all
I managed to get in two 6mm WW2 games with my 13yo son. He wanted a game using the 6mm figures as per the campaign I am running on an A4 page. But wanting to run it on a larger table (cannot understand it) with the 20mm figures. But they were elsewhere so made do with 6mm and dragged out some 10″ squares I got from a bring and buy a few years ago. We played with the same 3×4 gridded rules as per the A4 rules. Only two photos of the first game. We played again the following night and for that one there is a narrative and pics. It was interesting to play where the distance scale (about 1:600) was only twice that of the figure scale (1:300). And it would not be a blog post from me without some rambling about rule changes.

This is what the setup looked like in the centre:
Very nice, combining wargaming, playtesting and most importantly time with your son. Seems like the lad had a great time. Even if your kit was too small…
It was a great combination. The 20mm figures are back with me now so the next time he gets the urge to play it will be with the preferred scale. While I have gradually moved to preferring co-op games, when I ask what he wants to to he prefers playing against me!
