Well, just took delivery of a Soraa Vivid 5000K GU10 7.5W led bulb. It’s claim to fame is 95-6 CRI based on gallium nitride diodes which apparently do better in the violet or something. It’s $25 (plus shipping) ! Anyway, put it in a gooseneck clamp lamp I have, and wow a lot of light (I bought the 10° spot) that really helps painting details. And 7.5 watts replacing the 35 watts of the halogen. Nice!
Both actually. The really nice thing about it, is that at 7.5 watts, it runs a little hotter than ordinary LEDs, but it is still very cool and I can crane it right over my work and blast it with light. Good for my aging eyes.
