Ha ha, not a wiseass at all, I’d not really thought of Brigade’s stuff. I was just having a look at their ranges and I am not too sure which sets would be best. I’ll do a bit more work..

Thanks Mr Average, I have some of Brigade’s 2mm buildings and very nice they are too. I was just being lazy, TBH, but you’re right, I could do my own work…

I am sure there are better people than me to fill you in on the comings and goings of the comics but the Golden Age to me is about mid 1985 to the early 90s. When there was a lot of layering to MC-1 and the crazies that lived there. I am not very keen on the mega-epics that started to leave MC-1 in ruins, the Apocalypse war, Necropolis, etc. They just felt a bit of a let down and a cop-out. I like the day to day stuff in the streets.

Thanks Colin, glad to be of service! With the stirrers I cut them in half along their length to get the right size for the walls and fences. It also doubles up the amount of material!

Good stuff, I have a judge Dredd project that I am working on at the moment (find my threads in the sci-fi topics). I have also been pondering terrain. I am thinking of going down the interior of a block route. Something along the lines of an open area shopping sprawl, with eaterie carts and the like to block los. I also want a bunch of citizens to mix in!

Thanks Rhoderic, I am glad you enjoyed the write up. I’m sorry I didn’t have much more information on the games. I have no idea who made the minis, they seem to be a mixed bag of manufacturers and they were bought from a second hand stall. Sorry!

Thanks Victoria, these are not my first 6mm, but part of a bigger project that I have been working on since last year. Until then, I had not painted any 6mm for at least a decade. TBH, I find them quite easy, it’s a case of undercoating in black then block colouring the detail over the top of that. Here is my first blog post about the 6mm figures which has a link to a painting guide for 6mm. It’s worth having a go at: http://stormofsteelwargaming.blogspot.co.uk/2015/06/a-short-6mm-post.html

Thanks Guys, Mike, I haven’t read a copy of 2000AD for about ten years and prefer the golden era (IMO) of the mid eighties through to the early nineties. I am sure there are a plenty of reprints of the Cursed Earth stuff around, as already mentioned.

Personally, I am not interested in the Cursed Earth or the Mega Epic stuff when it comes to Dredd. I feel they are too much like a WW2 Skirmish game, which is not why I want to play JD. My favourite era of Dredd is the mid eighties to early nineties Wagner led story lines and I am far more interested in the Judges patrolling the streets of MC1 dealing with crime than a large set piece battle against the Angel Gang or Muties, for example. We have been trying to work out how to do this as mentioned, it’s closer to roleplaying than miniature games. But I was thinking of something along the lines of other perps appearing to thwart the Judges from going after the main perp the scenario is based on. Pickpockets, sky surfers, a whole host of minor characters that get in the way. just as in any every day encounter in MC1. How this would work in a game is the thing we need to work out!

Thanks Guys, I am glad you liked them. Rhoderic, that’s a great idea. I have just ordered some 28mm urban rubbish! That should look a a lot better than the usual rubble. As for terrain, TBH I have not yet given it much thought. It may be a case of interiors to blocks or plazas, something that may be quite easy to knock together as all my other terrain is 15mm or 6mm… I will think more about it when I have enough figures for a game.

I like facebook and spend a lot of time on it, however, I rarely post pictures of my cats and mainly use it to post funny (to me) updates. It’s also useful for staying in touch with a lot of people, having worked across the globe, that would be a lot more difficult otherwise. I also have a small closed nerd group, mainly friends who don’t want to go public with their hobbies for whatever reason. But I visit forums for information or sharing my blog posts. They have their two different uses for me.

Great find! I would be inclined to edge them with flock, but that would look weird in an urban setting. Maybe use thinner strips, slightly raised as pavements along the edges?

Thank you. I have barely scratched the surface TBH. I have one full Corps of British/Allied and French. This is the second French corps of which I have completed three bases from a total of nine. In Army terms, there is six French corps, plus a Guard, reserve and several Cavalry Corps… There are three British Corps plus two smaller contingents (I’ve done the Brunswickers). And let’s not even talk about the Prussians at this stage…

I’m starting to think I should have started smaller…
