I have been adding texture to the bases in several coats as when it dries out it shrinks a bit.
I hope by Wednesday it will be finished and dry and ready to paint on Thursday.Whilst that has been drying I have been painting some more buildings to go on the tiles and also making and then painting the Junker market place:
It is not finished, but it is not far off.
I hope to have it show ready for the weekend, then after that I can come back and add the little details.Angel BarracksModeratorNow, whilst the junkers are pretty much a big commune of like minded souls working together, they are also scavengers, so anything close to a grand plan will be hampered by their lack of resources, as such their roads are more like tracks at best.
Here I have laid out a rough pathway of broken stone, metal sheets and pallets.
The market place is on my desk having the buildings made.
Angel BarracksModeratorha, hit a snag already!
The marketplace needs a lot of building still, so whilst making a nice building to go in the marketplace I stopped when I realised it would be better as a standalone model for the website.
So I have a new building for release soon, but one less for this.
I have not looked at the marketplace for months and upon doing so noticed all the fine details I have made… could be a lot of long nights!Angel BarracksModeratorAngel BarracksModeratorIn Her Majesty’s Name is a popular Victorian Science Fiction skirmish game. One of the authors, Craig Cartmell, shall be on hand to introduce newcomers to the game and to chat about the game and its future with the many players already out there. (He will also be happy to answer questions about his other games Daisho and Blood Eagle.)
The participation games will be fast and furious and take no more than half an hour of your time.

Sometimes it is done because of a perceived gap in the market (No one has done X well, and while it may not be my period I can see them selling).
That is how Angel Barracks in its current guise came about.
After getting into 6mm sci-fi I noticed no-one did sci-fi wildlife, plenty of intelligent alien races but no alien cows or dogs etc.
That annoyed me as I wanted such things for my games, so I set about getting them done.
Then I noticed that no-one did 6mm sci-fi civilians, so I set about making them.
Then I noticed….and so it goes.
Angel BarracksModeratorSounds too Games Workshopy. If I wanted to play WHFB I’d play WHFB
I dunno WFB has what, about 10 or more stats compared to TWB’s 3?
It is also very much about big battles with lots of troops the same in units slogging it out?
Plus it is now AOS?Angel BarracksModeratorThat’s a very nice building and very well made by the look of it.
Did you ever see his 6mm Troy?
Angel BarracksModeratorAngel BarracksModeratorAngel BarracksModeratorAngel BarracksModeratorAngel BarracksModeratorAngel BarracksModeratorAngel BarracksModeratorAngel BarracksModeratorAngel BarracksModeratorAngel BarracksModeratorSo I started with the vehicle.
It is a printed sample that I had done.
I filed the rear wheels off and filed away a groove to add the busted up axle.
I also spent about 40 minutes sanding down the print lines.
I have made a rough base from plasticard which will house the build.
The RV is placed where I think it will be, just the rest to do.Angel BarracksModeratorAngel BarracksModeratorAngel BarracksModeratorTis a tricky one.
The idea of a Junker ‘tank hunter’ is appealing.
It would fit with the Junker theme for sure.
However it is also something I have been thinking of doing commercially.
So a part of me is thinking why not just wait until the proper models come out?The abode to abide in is also tempting as you know, cos it is.
Plus it would give me a chance to show off what 6mm can really achieve, as my buildings on the site have no be easy to cast, which reduces fancy pants details.
A one off build would allow lots of un-castable detail…I will have to have a think and will announce here which I will go for.
Angel BarracksModeratorAngel BarracksModeratorAngel BarracksModeratorwhich are a little smaller and slimmer than Angel Barracks stuff for eg,
So closer to 6mm then!
Angel BarracksModeratorAngel BarracksModeratorAngel BarracksModeratorGood comparison shots.
I would class Plasmablast along with Brigade in being 1/300th and with both infantry and vehicles to suit.
I would class mine as 6mm of heroic proportions.
Mine are chunkier than their cousins and my vehicles are upscaled to fit in with the chunkier infantry. That grey jobby with the blue energy weapons looks very cool.
Do like. -
