Thanks for clearing that up. I’m was not trying to start a flame war but just voicing my suprise that something that has always been a staple basic of all such boards *etc. is not so here. I guess you are like a Ryan Air of the forums world and as such I have two choices either do without it or pay for the extras. I guess I’m just not willing to pay a fee each month for a service I may or may not use for months at a time. Jim

I know at least 2 other sites where there is no free PM – one site you have to pay if you want to PM someone (it’s still going – no clues, – but no supporting membership no PM!) – the other doesn’t have any system – you have to put up your email up in normal post in coded form on the forum to avoid spam and cross your fingers the person aimed at bothers to respond via email. *So nice hyperbole, but not strictly accurate. (And TWW is more Emirates Executive than Ryan Air)

I guess it was my fault for not adding “…I have been a member of.” (Prior to your annotated asterisk)?

I assume you have personal experience of both airlines to be able to back up your “hyperbole”?

    Cheers,

So I have to basically pay to use a system that is free on every other message board/forum I have ever used?

Guess I won’t be PMing folk from here then any time soon.

Not a problem. I had been playing a few games last week so had the rules to hand.
    always happy to assist.

    Shaun,
You mentioned on the AZ part of the board of looking through the remains of the old forum for a QRS, how much of this old one is left and could more of it be recovered as there was a lot of good stuff on there that would be good to resurrect?

There was a QRS on the old forum, and I may have a copy of it saved on my back up drive. I will have a look later.

    Hi,
Sorry it’s been so long for a reply.

WC’s and headhunters are explained on pages 7 and 8 of the rules and have a moral of D6 (sometimes D8 for headhunters).
As noted on p7 and 8 WC’s flee from zombies, although not clear in the rules I always assume that WC’s will always move to cover if fired upon closest if moral role made – IE more successes than failures in the group, or closest in the direction of the result of the scatter role on p7 as panic makes you do the strangest things. You could even go as far as to role individual moral and cause the group to scatter which is more realistic in my mind?
Headhunters as noted on page 8 operate like other military units but with lower moral dice, so you follow the moral rules for professionals on page 39 of the rules.

    Hope this helps,

    Jim

    Chris,

Hope you had a good Christmas.

Glad you found my ideas useful and I’m glad they worked !

Have not thought of changing the location of the target each game so the replay value feels fresh each game and also force teams to enter buildings in order to locate them.

I would be interested to hear the outcome and know how long a game lasted. Where are you planning to run it?

I have used ICE’s War Lore to play middle earth battles

But have mainly used DBM rules with army lists from here

I’m now looking to use Impetus rules for the same.

Another idea just sprung to mind, have the players split into 2 or more groups each working for a different vaxine company all trying to get to patient zero first. Stops team cooperation and also hightends the likelihood of human v human conflict that in itself increases the likelihood of more zeds being produced?

    Happy holidays to you,

If your going to run larger than usual games then I would suggest doing the following

Increase the number of hot spots to 2d6 and make a roll of 12 equivalent to the standard 6 (zed player chooses which spot to use).

Remember noise makes zombies, ANY noise. Break open doors, roll for more zeds. Firing none silenced weapons roll for zeds.

you could also add 1 or 2 to the number of zeds that are created (so 1d6+2 becomes 1d6+3 or 4)

Have very few TQ10 troops and no TQ12’s

Just a few quick ideas off of the top of my head.

Nice to read that you are returning to your roots with the new edition. I’ve always liked the small table “close and dirty” approach the game had.
