    Would you say it gives a general overview or a more moderate level of detail into the world?

    Homeworld is a computer strategy game. I’ve only played the first game and know a bit of the lore, and wanted to know how well Modiphius presents background.

    I do have the free pdf but I’ve only interested in the setting, and the quick start doesn’t show a glimpse of that.

    reservations about how they portray the Conan world.

    Thanks for the response.
    Can you expand on this?
    What misgivings do you have?

    How are you liking the stick? I heard early pilots had issue ith them in F-16s becasue of lack of feedback.

    That first gun kill was why I like the funnel mode, its a lot easier to shoot while maneuvering.

    Something I’ve been wondering for a while, do missiles have to physically hit or do they have proximiuty fuse? Videos of DCS I’ve seens suggest they had to hit the planes, but those had been years ago.

    Looks like its a much more stable gun platform than monoplanes. I’m surprised you survived the tail chase on those stukas.

    I like most of those early war planes, evpecially the Wildcats. I’m surprised you could keep up with the Cr-42. Is it jsut me or does the enemy prety much fly stright and only start to evade when your crosshair is near it?

    Does the Fw190 ever try to fight to its advantage? Boom and Zoom. What I’ve seen of WWII AIs they always turn fight.

    I think the last one was harder because you were damaged. Even damaged you were able to keep up with him though.

    I love seeing burning Spitfires.

    I really like how pretty the clouds are.

    1/48 mech convension game? I’d hate to see the terrain.

    So, I did print some samples up. I haven’t been painting for so long I screwed up teh painting. Insteading of simply throwing pait on, I decided to drybrush white over black for some underpainting, before putting on colors. It came out grainy.

    Also scaled them wrong. Small one was supposed to be 5mm came out 7mm. Big on is 10.5mm instead of 8mm.
    Everything came out nice though. I used a little too much support and some of the details like the rockets suffered for it.

    Shown with 6mm and 3mm minis

    All hail the 3mm brotherhood.

    @Mike
    I’m more of a badland rover 🙂

    @Paint it Pink
    I’m leaning towards 5mm to 6mm tall. It should be 8mm and would work as robots for 6mm games too.

    @DSG
    GZG has some Scopedogs for 6mm scales. I had some but didn’t like how too upright they are.
    After tinkering with it for printing, the arms are way too thin for my liking. Enlarging the arms really changed how it looks to me, its surprising.

    Heavy Gear mechs also looks too similar at the tiny scale.
    I need to do some Weasels and Ferrets, they should look different enough.
    It’s anti climatic but I went with a half measure, transplanting Heavy Gear features to existing mechs.

    The helmet was a nice touch.

    That was exciting.
    Seems like round 4 had everyone going down all of a sudden.
    How easy was it to search and ID targets with VR set? I think you locked on to a friendly at least once?

    I think it was Strike Fighters that I played, the AI did pretty well covering each other, but I still had to tell them to clear my tail though.

    I’m guessing AI doesn’t have anyhting like formation flying and wingman defending each other?

    Similiar to Kitfox, what I remember liking was a story narration with little notes on how mechanics affected certain events/actions or some spiffy mechanics that made the story stand out.

    3x F-14 vs 6x F-5 was for the Top Gun refight.

    Weird the Mig-29 doesn’t carry R73
    Also weird Su-27 ran out of flares so soom
    Seem like a big jump in capability between Aim9L and M

    I’m surprised that sidewinder hit on the first fight.
    I like the brief over the canopy view on the last fight.
    What model of sidewinders are on the F-14? What I’ve see so far of your DCS flying the enemy aways pop flare when they turn, is the Su-27 not popping flares or did it not have any?

    With the new AI looking prety good, maybe do a 3x F-14 vs 6x F-5 now? Visual ROE only.

    Does the planes come with a manual? Stuff like corner speed and stuff?

    They get firey pretty fast. That shot on the wing in the second fight looks like WWII footage of A6M getting shot.

    I’m curious what you mean by better symbology on the Mig-29 becasue I have no idea on Russian HUDs.

    Looks like a fun fight. Makes me wonder how effective the AI really is though. I thought Mig-29 were supposed to be better in the vertical.

    Looks so much easier in a MiG-29 despite you being new to it.

    You know what would be interesting, you flying a MiG-29 vs AI Mig-29 (since you’re now to it) and then fly another plane you have a lot of hours in vs the AI flying the same plane.

    I’m kind of disappointed in F-14 damage model though, I was expecting pieces to be flying off, must be that legendary Grumman contruction at work.

    I’m interested in seeing you test out the new AI with a lot of DACT.
    Would like to see you fly a Mig-29 vs F-14 next and see how well the AI fly.

    Don’t knwo if it was there before but I only just noticed the pilot’s helmet in the mirror, a nice touch since none of the flight sim I’ve played ever showed it.

    I see what you mean in the FAC post about hit register being big, even though you said DCS fixed them.

    A shame about AI, seems to be the problem with most games.

    Don’t know if you can answer this but I#’m short sighted and even thought a lot of VR sets elts you wear glasses while wearing them I’d rather not wear glasses. Does VR work for shortsighted people without glasses since the display is only a little off the eyes?

    I noticed ground objects don’t have as good shadow as in the copit, that might be part of it, shadows give a lot of things away.

    I was expecting it to be easier with VR, depth perception and all.

    10mm Fantasy Village

    I don’t know how much scatter terrain I can fit in there for range combat to be interesting.

    @Mike @MartinR
    Yeah, terrain has always been my big issue. I’ve found out that even if the footprint is disproportionately small. Terrain need to be a certain height to look right and with smaller scales moving minis between buildings is a pain.

    I’m definitely going to make my own minis, having found out Dropzone commaners makes 10mm plastic sprues I can use for conversion. Going 10mm would let me do thinner limbs and tell weapons apart by sight.

    @Guy
    Farrish
    I was thinking effective weapon range as well. Mainly, I’m thinking of using scatter terrain to block shots and wondered if 10mm would mean there aren’t enough scatter terrain to make for a good fight/maneuver on the small board I have.

    @Don Glewwe
    My mini bases are pretty tight around the minis. Thinking of using 6mm hole punch for 10mm minis.

    A shame about the splash damage and copilot controlling the minigun. I was expecting you to line up using the minigun before letting loose with rockets until I saw that gunsight come down.
    How easy/difficult is it to spot targets from the air?

    Very nice. Is there a way to pick which smoke AI go for?
    How difficult is it to spot enemies without the green smoke trigger. Looks perfect for multiplayer.

    “They’re infantry so they’re definitely dead!”
    “they’re not dead, they’re not dead”

    love that moment

    I did someting similar way back in Operation Flashpoint. I flew an OH-58 while my friend had the bombtruck. The way we did was I’ll pop one smoke in one color and then another on the opposite side of the target in a different color and tell him to make a run between those two points. Sometimes I’ll tell him to start from one color to another because he couldn’t tell what’s already dead. The enemy would move and I’ll have to eventually add another smoke. Fun stuff.

    What layer height setting was it printed in?
    I wonder if paint would chip or flake off when the minis bend.
