ParticipantShaun, they’re unreleased Khurasan miniatures. Not sure why they haven’t made it up onto the website yet, but he’ll sell them if you e-mail him.
Evil Dave
ParticipantThanks Darby.
I’ve been working on the Roman cavalry these past weeks and finished up the Equites (aside for the shields) tonight.
Evil Dave
ParticipantThe cavalry conversions got finished up this week, and they got primed and based as well.
I also had this Cretan leader type hanging around so I painted him up too. Not sure what he’s going to be used for yet.
Evil Dave
ParticipantThe Hastatus shields are done as of tonight. I’ve got four bases of cavalry to do next, then everything needs some top coats and basing.
Evil Dave
ParticipantWork continues on the shields. I finished them for the Principes and Extraordinarii this week. On to the Hastati next.
Evil Dave
ParticipantI spent this week cleaning, priming and glueing shields on the Triarii, Principes and Extraordinarii. I also painted up the Triarii’s shields. I glazed one in the recesses to tone down the shading, not sure if I like it yet. Thoughts? I don’t know why I spent so much time on the figures, the shields cover 80% of the detail.
Evil Dave
ParticipantThese Roman Extraordinarii kind of came along for the ride as I was working on the Principes. They just needed a bit more work that I completed tonight. I also finished up the bases for them and the Principes too.
Evil Dave
ParticipantI finished up my principes for a game of Triumph! this Saturday. I should be able to get them some bases by then too. I need to start figuring out what I’m going to do for all their shields. I’ll probably track down some design and make decals for them.
Evil Dave
ParticipantBack to the Romans! I finsihed up my Triarii this week and also spent some time putting together bases for everything.
Now I have usable units for Triumph! and can use the figures in a skirmish game as well. Next up is the Principes, cavalry and then I need to figure out the shields. I’m looking at some sort of decal at this point.
Evil Dave
ParticipantThe Conquerors are finished, short of a top coat and some flocking. I might try to finish up some Executioners or Vultures for EpiComp, not sure yet. Either that or head back to the Romans or something completely different, we’ll see where the paint goes.
Evil Dave
ParticipantThat’s Space Marine/Titan Legion, the second edition of the game from the early 90s. Epic Armageddon came out in 03 and is alternating activation.
Evil Dave
ParticipantI finished up the Thunderers tonight after working on them for the past couple of weeks. They already made their game debut where they refused to activate for two turns.
I started on the Conquerors tonight too. I’m still hoping to finish these and the Executioners for EpiComp.
Evil Dave
ParticipantI picked up the Tykee for T&S. I would have enjoyed it in 10mm more but the sculpts are still great in 20ish.
Evil Dave
ParticipantYou could always get the new stuff printed at a smaller scale. I don’t think any of us went in on the new stuff and Josh, the owner, is still keeping the old metal around.
Evil Dave
ParticipantThanks guys.
I think I started these Romans two weeks ago. They take a bit more time and effort than the WW2 Americans, I think it’s the red and metalics. I have their shields yet to do, but I wanted to clear coat them first as the shield covers so much of the figure.
Evil Dave
ParticipantI finished up the Velites tonight, the line infantry also has their basecoat of red down as well. I have a small local con coming up where I volunteered to run some Warmaster games so I’m going to take a break from these for a bit to finish up some 10mm terrain. Hopefully I’ll be back to painting them in September.
Evil Dave
ParticipantI finished up some more Epic armor conversions recently, notably Thunderers which have 18 pieces of plasticard on them.
Evil Dave
ParticipantI’ve been working on the Velites these past few weeks. Most of the colors have their basecoat down and I’m halfway through painting the red.

ParticipantDo you push the foam into the paint while it’s still wet, Mr. A?

ParticipantGot any pics?
Central/western Europe.

ParticipantCurses, my sig gave me away!
Evil Dave
ParticipantI started off my Polybian Romans with not painting any Romans at all, but Cretan Archers. I’ll be using these as skirmishers. These are closer to true 15mm than the Romans (more 18mm). I’m telling myself that the Romans were just better fed.
Evil Dave
ParticipantI was shooting for 1943-45.
Evil Dave
ParticipantThere’s some battle shots of them from our recent tourney: https://www.thewargameswebsite.com/forums/topic/northeast-epic-armageddon-tournament-neat-xiv-pics/
Evil Dave
ParticipantWorry? No. Expect? Yes.
Evil Dave
ParticipantThanks guys. It’s an ancient bag of GW’s green flock, Andrew. It bleeds like crazy if it gets wet, so I put it down with a thicker green/Elmer’s mix and then hit it with a non-acrylic varnish.
Evil Dave
ParticipantI am armor shamed.
Evil Dave
ParticipantI’ve been painting my Turan Armored Company, on and off, for just just over two years now. With the exception of the Thunderbolts everything in the pictures below was finished in that time, some 5,000+ points. I’ve still got plenty left: 67 armored vehicles, 3 super-heavies, 40 Chimera and all the infantry I can pack into them. The plan is to keep plugging away until enough complaints have been filed and I move on to another Epic army. In the meantime, on to some 15mm Romans. I’ll come back to these later in the year to round out my entries for EpiComp[/url].
Evil Dave
ParticipantThanks guys.
I finished up the flock on the Russes and Demolishers today, well ahead of schedule. I’ve got a backlog of stuff to varnish, so I think I’ll be setting that up this weekend then snap some updated army pics as requested.
I hope to finish up some conversions on a small 15mm Polybian Roman army I picked up in the coming weeks, and then get some paint on them.
Evil Dave
ParticipantThanks guys.
Not recently, Thomaston. 95% of this army from ’07 to ’14 maybe? Even the more recent additions haven’t broken the bank though. Buy big lots and part off what you don’t want, often times you ending up getting paid to keep what you want to keep.
Evil Dave
ParticipantThe tiles are the odd shapes. You lay them on top of the topography grid so they don’t overlap one another. Here’s an example with Patchwork:
Evil Dave
ParticipantI don’t, madman. Not yet. Do you have any specific questions? Alternatively, you can watch a Patchwork Express tutorial video (that’s what I based it on). From there I added additional rules on where the first couple of tiles could be placed, and made placement mandatory is you’re able.
Evil Dave
ParticipantGreat looking game. Where is the terrain from? Specifically the windmill.
Evil Dave
ParticipantThanks, CC.
I finished the last four prone troopers I had from my first batch of New Israeli that I picked up some 10+ years ago. I’m still thinking on the basing.
During the GZG Christmas sale I picked up a few reinforcements, and while they technically weren’t “on” it they were bench adjacent. So I built them all up, then based, primed, base coated and washed them all so they’re ready to go when I come back to them.
Evil Dave
ParticipantAnd after a short break to paint some Epic, this is what I managed to get done this week. I’m having second thoughts on the basing scheme, so they’re staying bare sand for the time being until I sort something out.
Evil Dave
ParticipantBeing able to paint eight of them up a week made them a little addictiv, I finished a few more around Thanksgiving.

ParticipantFunded as of yesterday, there’s about five days and change left to get in on it.

ParticipantI forgot to mention, the German/Landsknecht Offiziersstab (Leaders), Battle Wizard, War Priest and Wingsuits are up in the store: https://warmonger-miniatures.com/store/
Evil Dave
ParticipantYa, there’s a few stands that have a small magnet on them, I throw those down when I need a stand with a Spirit Seer. They’ll also double as Farseers characters in other Eldar lists.
