I’ve bit the bullet and ordered a bunch of Crom’s Anvil buildings, I can’t wait to paint them.

Michael, you were looking for generic Civilians to populate your town, Donnington Miniatures has a few Middle Eastern civilians sold as individuals in their Equiptment range along with a few interesting Middle Eastern musicians and Town Militia in their other ranges. They’re nearer to 18mmthan 15 but are nice castings.

I look forward to seeing your work, I’m a beginner too, I’ve tried almost every scale and period and its 6mm WW2 that I seem to excel, my 28mm and 15mm look so sloppy.

A few new bits done today.

Armoured Forward observer in Pz II, Officer in Pz II and Infantry Officer in Heavy Car.

German supply column with fuel tanker, some still painted in early war Panzer Grau.

3 SdKfz 222 and Raupenshlepper Ost PaK 40.

Battlegroup would fit your requirements except for how it handles figures but with a bit of book keeping it should be doable. They aren’t covering every theatre of WW2 as yet, but they are working on it.

They’re designed for 20mm but would handle 10mm without changes.

    look forward to seeing more

There will be plenty more soon, but so far just rebasing.

Fuzzy phone pic of German Armour rebased, they look almost the same as they did, but took a lot less time to base up without all of the cutting. I’ve expanded the size of my command stands from 30mm X 30mm up to 40mm X 40mm

I’ll be getting on with some early bits too, a T-26b company and a company each of BT-5 and BT-7 along with early war command in T-26 and on Horses.

Hello again. I’m back to painting and modelling the Eastern Front in 6mm again after a 6 month break. I’m starting with rebasing all of my previous efforts onto laser cut wooden bases, they work out cheaper than hand cut styrene and have no variation, I’ll update with pics soon. Popping all those tanks off of bases is a daunting task.

Meanwhile I’ve put in a nice big order at Heroics and Ros and Scotia (GHQ are out of my price range now 🙁 ) to cover mid to late war Germans and Soviets so expect updates thick and fast through August and September

I’ve never had a problem with Pervy miniatures, I’m not sure it shows a mysoganistic side to wargaming either as my Mrs has a lot more explicit and pervy male and female miniatures and figures than I do and she’s a radical feminist.

Their 6mm WW2 stuff is good except for the infantry, weak ankles, incomplete casts on the strips, some figures only had feet, some only the lower legs, some only cast to the waist, others with missing arms. I got about 25 figures out of each pack of 50.

    hope this helps

I’ve thought about gaming Red Dwarf, but games scenarios seem a little limited, remember there are no other humans and absolutely NO aliens at all in the Red Dwarf universe, as for minis I’m not sure, in 28mm Nexus Miniatures should have a Kryten mini out soonish.

When I paint my Hobgoblins for alongside my chaos dwarfs they may be getting done goblin green….maybe.

I’ve picked up a bunch of landing craft from Scotia Grendel for Overlord beach assault games, firstly I have practiced my ship colour on a LCI (late) that I couldn’t resist ordering at the same time event though it’s more suited to the Pacific and Far East

Still awaiting decals and crew but I quite like it, Scotia Micro-models are much nicer in person than they appear on their website, nice and inexpensive too

I base 2 minis or a HMG team etc. to a 20mm round base and 3 minis or a AT gun etc. to a 25mm round base, a typical Russian platoon for BGK is 35 minis or 9 25mm bases and 4 20mm bases plus appropriate support weapons.

I think £4.00 – £7.00 is about the maximum I’d pay these days, back in my GW buying days i’d have spent up to £20 on a single guy on a metal horse like Archeon or Balthazar Gelt, not anymore though, I’ve become quite reluctant to part with cash as I became older.

love the commander popping out the hatch, is that a conversion?

It’s a officer from GHQ German Infantry pack cut in half at the waist and a new arm sculpted holding his binoculars, I still need to add the hatch covers which I forgot to do before I painted them.

I’ll happily pay £1.00 – £2.00 for a 28mm foot figure, more for the individual rather than rank and file I.e. £4.00 for a Crooked Dice mini. Though I begrudge paying the £1.70 ish for a single 6mm tank from GHQ which uses about the same amount of lead.

Firstly my NKVD officer writing orders at his field desk (Irregular and C in C)

A platoon of NKVD border guards supported by a Maxim and Mortar (H & R WW1 and WW2 Russians)

    A KV-2 and lend-lease White Scout Car (C in C)

2 Gaz-67 jeep for my NKVD blocking troops and 3 BA-10 armoured cars (GHQ and C in C)

2 tows for Zis-2 guns (GHQ and C in C)

Transports to motorise another rifle platoon and their Infantry gun (a mix of GHQ and C in C with troops transplanted from H & R trucks)

    A platoon of T-60s (C in C)

And finally a few Don Cossacks (Irregular)

Thanks for the kind words everyone.
@Norm Smith – the rivers are made with 5mm thick MDF that came in the packaging of our new oven, a typical section can be between 30cm – 80cm long and 17cm wide without warping,
@Alexander Wasberg – the bridge is 2 kebab skewers to span the river with toothpicks glued on top.

Ask and you shall receive, here’s a few pics I’ve taken of my current set up for a small skirmish game set in 1943 Russia, no river on these photos though.

When I played 40K I had Ice Warriors of Valhalla – which is pretty much the same thing too.
