I use the Expo AB602 Compressor with an Iwata brush. As a starter I would go with the Expo compressor kit (brush included) and an Iwata Neo airbrush. The Kit is about £100 on ebay (I got mine from Dave at the Wargames Store about 2 years ago and I don’t know if he still stocks them). The Neo brush is excellent value at about £40.00 and you will see the difference between it and the one that comes with the kit.

Howard Hues do a Pants Blue which I use and quite  like…very grey blue, they also do a Butternut Brown which after a sepia ink wash looks just the job.

I really rate the Ebor WSS range, superb! Warfare are very nice if a little “slimmer” than I am used too. In 10mm I really like the Pendraken SYW range, also, their League of Augsburg  figures (not quite 18th C but damn close!) are absolutely, without question, the best 10mm figures I have seen.

For the WSS I use Beneath the Lily Banners, 28mm Ebor.

For the SYW I use Honours of War, 10mm Pendraken.

The honours of War rules are being play tested before publishing and give a real feel for the period. Yahoo Groups honoursofwar if you fancy a look.
