Are you using homebrew rules or some ruleset? Sounds like a great set-up: Conan meets LoTR!

Love to see some pictures next time.

A good story, a lot of room for exaggeration when they boast about it at an inn too.

As I play a lot with my sons, I usually translate the inches one on one to centimetres. This makes it easier for them, the metric system is the one they teach at school and they are far more familiar with it.

    I know this isn’t a 100% correct but it’ll do.

Fantastic work, you can never go wrong with a zombie horde. They look amazing on your board.

I just noticed you’re from the Netherlands, I was already wondering whether you were from a Dutch territory with a last name like that. I’m originally from Belgium myself (I lived near the border with Reusel for a long time).

Campaign looks great, I’m not into 28mm gaming anymore but I’m hoping the game will be scale agnostic, so I can use my 15mm collection.

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Such a wonderful selection of models you got. The cabinet and the lady on the turtle are so amazing and unique, I like them a lot.

Dinosaurs are always a bit hit with my boys as well. I got some 10mm ones from Magister Militum which I frequently use, where do these come from. They look amazing.

A sailing ship with a ram is a suicide vessel. It can’t reverse like an oar or steam powered one and, sooner rather than later, it will wind up stuck and going down with it’s victim. Since Erland isn’t a fool, clearly the reinforcement is so the ship can beach prow on, to take on or offload smuggled goods in secluded beaches well away from the prying eyes of the revenue men

True, add optional oars then 😁 , to be honest I love to see a galley over a sailing ship anyway. Maybe a galley with back-up sails (I’m a landlubber and know nothing of sailing)?

I like the beach prow idea, but wouldn’t this make more sense on a rowing boat? It probably takes a lot of manpower to get a ship this size back into the ocean and you also encounter the same problem as with ramming: you can’t reverse. Then there’s the problem that the waves will keep on pushing the ship to land.

I doubt my daughter will be a wargamer in the long run but for now she’s having fun. Between this and swapping My Little Pony for Star Wars Rebels I’m doing my best to introduce a little geek into her life!

You never know, she might surprise you 😊, at the the very least you’ve shown her the way. The game you played with her is an excellent introduction in roleplaying games in my opinion. Hope you have a lot more adventures ahead of you, maybe even featuring the My Little Pony. And if you do, please tell us all about it. Personally I love playing with my kids, they have such a vivid imagination and care less about the rules.

Sorry for the late reply, I’ve been a bit busy lately.

Great idea these guardian spirits. Some of these 28mm models look as if they’re made for 15mm too (I’m thinking about buying some Bushido kami to use as elementals myself) and these fit in just perfectly.

The minotaur is probably one of the best models for its kind that I’ve ever seen. What an amazing sculpt and your brushwork makes him even better.

Sweet looking orcs as well of course, another marvelous post as a whole.

I have to agree with the previous comments: ship looks great with the thinner mast.

Maybe you could do an optional ramming construction, like you see on some ships.

Roleplaying and video games are also great sources for inspiration.

Other skirmish games also often have scenarios which are translatable to other systems. It doesn’t have to cost much, there’s a lot of fan based material on the internet for free (KoW: Vanguard, Mordheim, Relic Blade, Five Leagues from the Borderlands, …)

And then there are useful tools like story cubes (https://www.storycubes.com/en/) and scenario generators. They sometimes take a bit of thinking, but that’s part of the fun.

What figures would you like to include in your scenario? Give us a list and I bet we can throw out all sorts of ideas.

Excellent idea, this could be fun!

Love the idea of a naked Erland (no, it’s not like it sounds)… I’d love to do a prison escape in Burning Sands.

Whereas I was thinking of a naked Erland escaping from the Hatun Yasmina’s wardrobe when her husband comes home…

    😂

Sounds like there are excited times ahead.

Love the idea of a naked Erland (no, it’s not like it sounds), it reminds me of these dollies in various poses you could sculpt on. I had a few of those in 54mm to practice on. Naked models could also be great if I ever wanted to start a superhero project in 15mm (mmm, tempting), so I’m hoping it won’t be just Erland who gets the treatment.

Chained up prisoners sound like a great addition, I’d love to do a  prison escape in Burning Sands.

Wow, those cultists are scary, I really like the green flames and black and white scheme. Very eerie!

Thanks, that was the intention! I wanted to do them completely monochrome in the beginning to be honest and just give the flames a touch of colour. This didn’t work out so well with the belts and I changed it. Still kind of regretting not doing the skin in grey tones.

Some more additions for my Rangers of Shadow Deep project.

When I bought the Alternative Armies adventurer packs I ended up with quite a few doubles, so I decided to do some conversions. This, well … got  a bit out of hand…

These are my bards that I’m going to use as recruits in RoSD. The one on the right is a conversion I did of a woman-at-arms model.

A templar and a knight, the templar has the same body as the knight but had some hack and saw work done.

These guys are a lot smaller than the rest and the guardsman is one of the first conversions I did, hence the wonky arm.

I didn’t like the shield the druid was originaly holding so I gave him a bow and changed him into a tracker. Noticing a severe lack of female characters I did a sex-change on the second druid and gave him/her a headswap with one of the heads from the dead cultists.

Most of my ’15mm’ miniatures are actually somewhere between  15 and 20mm, while I have some ‘true 15mm’ models from AA, they’re a minority. Scalewise I think they may be an eyesore when put next to my Crom’s anvil miniatures.

I applaud him for launching this project on KS though , it’s what the platform is made for in the first place, and I understand why he likes to share his dream and creations with other people. Some figures are a bit rough, but there are some good sculpts among them and for that alone he deserves a bit of support.

I also like these comic book style reports, they’re different from the usual battle reports out there and also suit the world really well. However, it might be a nice idea to do one in novel style (like Conan) but that me even more work

I haven’t had a glass of alcohol in years and even then I don’t think I ever had any rum.

It’s strange, if you tell people that you don’t drink any alcohol they almost automatically assume you were an alcoholic in the past or that you’re taking medication.

    Anyway, enjoy! Happy Crom-mass

It’s been a great year with a lot of new releases. Hopefully I’ll be able to get an order in for some more terrain next year.

It’s been a long time since I last played the game. The randomness in the rules of the races I chose (Orcs and Skaven) really put a damper on my enthusiasm for the game back in the day.

Some Cultists I finally painted up. I bought them a long time ago, back when Dracula’s America was just released, as part of another abandoned project.

They’re going to replace the gnolls in my RoSD  game as I like the idea of a single all encompassing evil over that of a seemingly random gathering of different kinds of fantasy creatures.

For the ones who are wondering why I used two types of bases; the Khurasan models are slightly smaller than the ones from RPE and to mitigate the height difference I put the Khurasan ones on higher bases.

My Magister/Necromancer and his mummified pet rat

Initiated members of the death cult, in RoSD they’re going to represent the gnoll sergeants

Death cultists with hand weapons, I gave them hoods to tie them in with the rest of the force.

Crossbow wielding cultists that I converted from the ones with rifles.

The frame is a really great finishing touch and the boards look more than just amazing because of it.

Fantastic to see how everything is usable in other settings by changing a few details.

The conclusion? of a brilliant project. I look forward to your first battle reports on it.

Looks great, just as good as all the rest. The billboard is a great touch and makes the board more than suitable for conventions or demos because it immediately tells you the theme of the game.
