ParticipantThanks for the info Ivan! That does help. It sounds like the Five Parsecs rules are quite a bit different than the 5Core that I’m used to. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, just different.

ParticipantI have Ambush Z , are there updates or can I just play it straight ??
Just play it straight. There is a QRS available on Ambush Alley’s website:

ParticipantNice idea, Ivan. I’ve gotten sidetracked by “real life”/work/etc. so I haven’t made much progress. However, I will certainly be using CotF for my weird WWII gaming in the future.
Ken Warren
ParticipantThanks for the suggestions, Ivan! The generic soldiers that I have should be able to use current profiles, with maybe a tweak here or there. The “heroes” may be slightly more difficult, but certainly manageable. CotF has a lot of options, so I’m confident that I easily come up with some stats. The hardest one to stat may be Hans the Hunter. A mutant dude wearing a diving helmet and carries a harpoon gun.
Now, I just need some time to get all my thoughts organized. And paint more of the minis.

ParticipantGary – you can buy a digital (PDF) edition of the Ambush Z rules now at: http://www.ambushalleygames.net/ambush-z/
That’s what I did instead of waiting for AA2/AZ2. Of course, I’ll be buying the updated version when it gets released.

ParticipantThanks for the info! I haven’t purchased any of the other In The Trenches series (yet), but would certainly like to in the future. I did pick up Night of Man and have had some fun times playing that. I’m also interested in High Speed Hover Tank, but haven’t bought that one yet either.
How’s the Bayou game? Too many games, too little time & money.
Ken Warren
ParticipantHi Erik! I have In the Trenches: Devil Dogs. I’ve played the first scenario and enjoyed the game. I like the idea of WWI gaming and I’m enjoying learning more about it. Do you have any of the other games in the series?
What about other Tiny Battle Publishing games? I have Invaders from Dimension X, Neuschwabeland, and Sticks & Stones. All are pretty good, IMO. My favorite is probably Neuschwabeland (Germans & Aliens in Antarctica?!?! Awesome!).
Ken Warren
ParticipantVery cool stuff, Stroezie! I had aspirations to do a 6mm version of Space Hulk, or at least a Space Hulk-ish game. FYI, I still love the Guncrawl rules. I’ve used them for 15mm Aliens-ish and zombie gaming. Like you, I need to break them out again.
Ken Warren
ParticipantMostly shamblers, with some ragers around just to make things interesting.
Ken Warren
ParticipantThose are awesome. I believe OGRE would be ideally suited in 3mm, especially after seeing your minis. I’m not into creating one myself, but I may have to now.
Ken Warren
ParticipantGood looking minis! I don’t have any of the Foundationist figures, but they do look pretty good.
What rules will you be using for your 6mm SF battles?
Ken Warren
ParticipantNice! I have some modern 3mm minis that are primed but not yet painted. I have a lot of 3mm SciFi minis on my want list.
Ken Warren
ParticipantNo pictures, but the painting table has a lot of Mechs (Battleforce Scale from Iron Wind Metals), some of AB’s RDF, CinC’s solar empire marines, plus a few Dark Realm Skyth. I need to stop remodeling a bathroom and get painting and playing with minis!
Ken Warren
ParticipantVery cool AAR, AB! Glad to see the RDF prevail!

ParticipantMy son and I play lots of Carcassone and Memoir ’44, along with Pirates of the Cursed Seas and Plunder. The Gears of War sounds interesting, though. Is it an old game? Lorne
Gears of War is quite fun. At least for me and my son it is. I also play solo (usually with 2 or 3 COGs). Anyway, the game is from 2011, but should still be available. See the BoardGameGeek site for more details:

ParticipantGood man!
Oh, the 3mm stuff these days is very tempting. Just think of the armour and far out terrain you could have!
Yes! For $5 you can get 15 tanks/ifvs/APCs/etc. That’s awesome! Very, very tempting.
Ken Warren
ParticipantHere are the Sci-Fi games I play:
6mm & 15mm: THW’s 5150 Star Army & Battalion Commander, KR16, PMC2640, plus others
I’m really tempted by the Oddzial Ozmy 3mm SF minis (I have some of their modern ones and I like them). They would be perfect for larger Battalion Commander games. For example:
Plus, the have some Xenos on the way: http://www.picoarmor.com/pico-products.cfm?id=273&m=8&p=Sci-Fi%20%283%20mm%29%20-%20Alien%20Creatures
