    New release.

Suppressors are a support arm of the Novan Elites siege armour detachments, in addition to the regular equipment carried by such units they also carry overhead heavy grenade launcher pods. These launchers allow the squad to act as a mobile fire support formation and have proven quite effective in the suppression of both enemy ground units and the defenders of city walls and fortifications. Once the launchers have expended all munitions the empty pods can be ejected for greater mobility.

This set contains: 30 x Novan Elites heavy siege armour suppressors in five poses.

    New release

Another 6mm release for the ever expanding Cybershadows range this time in the form of a combat automaton, the first in a new line of battle robots for the Defeat in Detail range.

CA100-A, Combat Automaton series 100 – Alpha variant.

A very old but still quite potent battle robot design of the first generation of mechanical warriors created by the Cybershadows, the CA100-A is a general purpose battle unit equipped with under slung HMG’s and combat claws on its arms and a light cannon on it shoulder mount. Deployed in large numbers these machines are a potent and relentless threat only stopping once their objectives have been achieved or they are all destroyed during the execution of their programmed mission.

Set contains 4 x CA100-A robots in four poses.

Model height approx. 18mm including shoulder cannon.

    Painted by me.

    News 27/08/19

Another update for you all on what exactly is happening here at Vanguard.

6mm Skinners infantry set B will be remoulded late this week early next with new masters and so will be back in store by the end of September.

Plenty of new 6mm products are lined up including Skinners tank variants, new Skinners leaders in heavy armour, updated gobblers and a new fighter.

Also for 6mm are new Desert troops sets, a new IFV and heavy assault transport for the regulars, and possible a few new tanks too. Next 6mm release should be the Cybershadow combat automaton set 1 and there are still yet more Cybershadow units to come.

3mm hope to see the Elites gunships in production very soon now and Skinners sets should appear in a few months time. We will also be getting the 3mm terrain models back in stock at some point.

Starships, the Dreadnought and Firedrake are on order and should also be in soon. I have three more metal ship releases for the Elites, all these should be out before the end of the year. There are also a few secret project pieces to come for this range too, more on that as I near production.

Terrain, I have around half a dozen new resin cast terrain items coming for 6mm, most if not all should see a September release. We are also looking at adapting a lot of Troublemaker Games last kickstarter campaign stl designs into actual physical models for retail so potentially a lot of new terrain pieces to come in the future. Some of these may see a 3mm release as well.

As can been seen we have plenty going on in the background and plenty of new releases to come before years end.

    Regards John

Wyvern dropship inbound, the second in a series of resin kits expanding the Novan Elites air assets is in store now.

    https://vanguardminiatures.co.uk/shop/novan-elites-wyvern-light-dropship/

The Wyvern light dropship serves a complementary role to its larger cousin the Eagle as an orbital insertion troop and equipment lander, enabling Novan Elite forces to rapidly establish a deployable beachhead within the chosen target zone. While the Wyvern cannot match the Eagle in total transport capacity, its higher top speed, smaller size and integrated vectored thrusters make the Wyvern perfect for maneuvering in confined landing zones and urban environments. These traits, combined with the Wyvern’s flexible, modular design make them ideal for deploying a variety of small fire teams to key battlefield locations.

Two variants currently serve with the Novan Elites forces:

Wyvern A is a dedicated troop carrier.

Wyvern B replaces the passenger bay in favour of an open cargo bay and attachment claw assemble with magnetic locking points for various cargo modules.

This set contains the parts to make one Wyvern dropship model, either the troop carrier or cargo module hauler variant.

    Model approximate dimensions: Length = 50mm, Wingspan = 52mm, Height = 12mm.

Please note that this model can only be built in flight mode and that we will look at the potential for a landed version should demand require it.

    Flight stand included.

This is a multi-part resin casting.

Agent of the later Novan Hegemony the Novan Convent forces provide internal security and act as defenders of Saullo’s empire and bringers of justice to unruly member states amongst their many other duties.

Originally a commission set and now being released as part of the Defeat in Detail line are these all female elite warriors. Convent forces are a secretive, fanatically loyal and feared military arm of the Novan Hegemony.

FYI, Omni refers to clan mechs, the clans were an invading force from outside Innersphere space at around 3050 by the Innersphere calendar, they used higher tech advanced modular omni-mechs that had the ability to swap out weapons and equipment to a far greater degree than Innersphere battlemechs. Advanced armour and longer ranged weapons are just two of the combat advantages enjoyed by clan pilots.

IIc, again this is a reference to clan mechs, the clans had more advanced versions of Innersphere designs as well, the “II” or two refers to it being a second generation version of an Innersphere design with the “c” designating it as a clan machine. So second generation clan.

Who were the clans?, they are the descendants of the Innersphere’s Star League army that left the Innersphere in a great exodus many decades before, which is why they had mechs based on Innersphere designs as they took their mechs with them when they left.

Hopes this helps clear up those designations for you.

This is my main concern with releasing 3mm versions of my 6mm range and that is that i’m inadvertantly creating a rival range to compete against my 6mm sales which is not my intent at all. The 3mm models have been done to be able to play truly epic battles involving thousands of troops and vehicles and dozens of stalkers, the kind of game impossible to play with our regular 6mm armies.

6mm is my core business loose to many sales there and i’m finished.

    Avatar photomoredakka

Hello again chaps let me see if I can answer some of your questions/concerns.

All my models are 3D designed and then printed masters are produced, these then go for master moulding and then production moulding. This is a very expensive process costing on average around £300 plus pounds to reach production mould stage for each model or sprue before I order actual castings for selling. So even with best seller models it takes a very long time to break even, i’ve still got many products that have not reached break even level yet. But anyway i’m sure your not really interested in that side of miniature manufacture. I will say this the 3mm models on the whole have cost just as much and in some cases more to print than many of my 6mm models, the smaller it is the harder it is to print and also harder to clean up afterwards.

I will do my best to keep packs at sub £15 sets but some may go slightly above this i’m not sure just yet, depends on contents obviously.

The above company pack gives you one gaming formation, three platoons plus transport this is a core Dominion formation and they would operate and be activated together. You can play with as many companies as you choose and companies can be upgraded with additional supporting platoons. Certain models such a superheavy tanks and warstalkers are fielded independantly.

Obviously these models can be used with other gaming systems too.

The elites infantry are about 4mm tall as befits their super soldier status with regular humans about 3mm as you would expect. Vehicles are scaled to look right next to the infantry and so are slightly bigger than normal 3mm ranges from other manufacturers.

Warstalkers (big stompy robots) vary in size with a medium machine (the dreadnought) at around 45mm to the top of the carapace weapon, 35mm to top of hull. Both the leviathan and dreadnought models will come with a lot of weapon options and I hope to have several leg poses as well for each. The jackal will come with four weapon options. More warstalker designs will follow as well as other very large war machines and maybe terrain pieces too.

Later we will introduce aircraft and dropships into the game and more factions too. Both the novan elites and the allied cybershadows will see reinforcement and the novan regulars will be joining the fray soon. I already have a lot of tanks printed ready for moulding and test prints of my winter troops are already at casting stage. It’s early days for this project yet we have so very much we can add to the armies as well as game expansions we hope to release at a later date.

A full expanded rule set will follow as an actual book if possible with the fast play version on downloadable PDF for free up on my website soon.

Many thanks for the interest guys i’ll try to pop in here from time to time to answer any other questions you may have cheers John

3mm OTC would be the bee’s knees. Also the ‘nids. We are missing a recognizeable alien army in 3mm. My only fear is pricing. Vanguard charges 12 pounds for three 6mm vehicles! If they sell 12 3mm vehicles for that same price, I am going to have to bow out. That would be more than 4 times O8’s prices!

Hi Vanguard here yes some of my models are indeed £12 for three but in most cases they are less, on the whole my models tend to be chunkier than most 6mm miniatures you see on the market and often come with extras for modelling options. I do keep my prices fair in comparison to what it costs me to have them designed, printed and cast up. I’m not in the business of ripping people off just charging a fair price for good quality highly detailed models, not unreasonable i’m sure you’ll agree.

As for the prices of the 3mm range i’m looking to keep pack prices fair for the size and quality of the miniatures in comparison to other manufacturers. You have already seen that the vehicles are bigger and much more detailed than O8’s as well most likely an other 3mm manufactures miniatures out there, you get what you pays for.

I will be selling in full company packs/sets at a very reasonable price i’ve poured a lot of my own personal resources into this project and introduced the next level of detail to the 3mm market to boot the sheer number of poses on the infantry alone deserves some recognition and we have separate turrets on most vehicles and additional optional turrets for some in the works and this is just for the elites you should see what we have instore for the other DiD factions exciting stuff well for me anyway.

Affray mechanised infantry company (3 platoons) pack contents:

    78 multi pose affray infantry

30 multi pose heavy support weapons infantry

Around 8 to 10 multi pose officer figures

    10 trojan APC’s

Over 100 infantry and 10 vehicles, what price would you be happy to pay for this.

Hi guys thanks for posting up a link to my site appreciated I do have a thread here that I used to keep updated fairly regularly but have let it slide of late. My website admin page shows where site traffic comes from and I noticed a sudden increase in traffic coming from this site again hence i’ve popped in to see why this should be. Overall my thread here was not generating very much interest from the community.

I can return to posting more regularly if you guys wish let me know please.

Many thanks  AB for your kind words.

About compatibility as stated above by Rhoderic Onslaughts infantry are 6mm and tend towards the smaller side of things for the most part. My DiD range on the other hand is a little more varied, regular human troops are pretty much 6mm, my elites are super soldier sized and are around 7 to 8mm tall as befits the fact they are meant to be eight foot tall on average. There vehicles are pretty chunkier to reflect the size of the troops occupying them.

The Eloi and skinners are proportioned as befits background fluff. I’ve seen both ranges succesfully combined into one army by several gamers just use your imagination. I will say this onslaught have very much stuck with the original 6mm scale whilst here in the UK and europe the scale has crept up over the years with 7mm being a more common regular human size. This has occured I believe to increase detail and robustness of the minis, so anyway you pays your money and your makes your choice I guess.
