Northern MonkeyParticipantWell Ive decided to get into this and placed an order with Navwar, i’ll let you know how it goes and post some pics of the ships when they arrive, for those taking an interest in this period

Northern MonkeyParticipantYeah I’d be interested to see your rules too, owt for a quicker game, especially for club nights where we spend more time talking crap than gaming

Northern MonkeyParticipantSo much stuff, about 1500 Baccus WotR(1500 or so done so far, so half way there), 40 bases of H&R 6mm British Paras(almost finished) about 100 10mm medieval for my Warmaster Game of Thrones game, 40 28mm Perrys WotR, about 20 Perry 28mm Samurai types, about 150 SHQ 20mm WW2 Germans/Brits/French, then its the 100’s of unpainted 6mm sci fi stuff to get on with lol
Obviously not all this is on my desk at one time, currently about 300 Baccus Wotr and the H&R paras, as each batch gets finished I drop another on there.

Northern MonkeyParticipantThanks that very useful info to have and saved me loads of time looking it up especially as air combat is not really my field, I think im going to go with a P47, as they are the same points/stats in BKC2 as a P40, and im wondering if a P47 was what the author intended to put on the list rather than the P40. Thanks again for your help

Northern MonkeyParticipantI was trying for something different, as I have spitfires/typhoons for my British Infantry force, and thought the P40 option would bring some variety, and ive painted it too, thanks for the offer of help though and on that note do you know who flew (the limited ) ground cover during Op Market garden?

Northern MonkeyParticipantThanks for the reply you have confirmed what I was beginning to suspect, looks like I’ll have to reconsider my choice

Northern MonkeyParticipantNobody wants to discuss the prospects of any American college football teams? Good. Very good.
I wonder what/who you could mean?

Northern MonkeyParticipantseeing some of the names on here made me think of this Ben Kenobi quote for some reason:
You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy

Northern MonkeyParticipantFor ancients ive used WAB1.5, Warmaster Ancients and Impetus in the past, though I prefer the latter two as I mainly play in 10mm and 6mm these days

Northern MonkeyParticipantreally nice, I particularly like the command unit.

Northern MonkeyParticipantWhilst not really that suitable for multi figure bases, I cant recommend rules of engagement by Great Escape Games enough. Between the morale and suppression rules it makes for a very tactical and somewhat cautious game which I think nicely reflects, small scale infantry combat, as a bonus its well supported by companies website.

Northern MonkeyParticipantI play BKC2 and I have based all mine on 40mmx20mm bases with 7 men per base, inc a gun team(Bren, MG42 etc), as much as possible I have also tried to include a leader type usually represented by a figure with an SMG, my elite units 9SS, Fallshcirmjaeger, Paras) have 6 men per base to differentiate them slightly, support units tend to have however many crew the pack came with, but with the occasional addition of a spotter type.

Northern MonkeyParticipantIts not the end of the world to have to look around bit IMHO, and its still a better format than That Morose Place!

Northern MonkeyParticipantI recently converted my loft to a gaming room, it can fit my painting desk, PC, several bookcases, tons of storage and sofa an chairs plus a 6×4 table, the Mrs even has a corner for her craft projects, its not quite finished yet, got the ceiling to finish off, but im really happy up here, out of the way of the kids and great light for painting thanks to the window, years of dreaming of a decent gaming room finally come true, i’ll post some pics when I can get round to it, busy with the Perry miniatures WOTR plastics ive just been suckered into buying!
