ParticipantI’m not sure all those separate parts would be viable in 10mm to be honest.
Would not appeal to me. Cant imagine sticking on 10mm smoke dischargers would be fun at all.
The Chieftain has two options, Stillbrew and not.

ParticipantBit more done… ambulance has seen better days but I wanted a real worn out look as it’s to be one on the long retreat…
Esci M3 with resin upgrade, in Protective K based on one seen in Belgrade that looked to have been repainted in Soviet paint over the usual Lendlease Olive Drab.
Not entirely happy at the moment with it, but more to do. Needs to look worn out and knackered after a long retreat and use.

ParticipantActually PSC have the following ranges;
Xyston
Corvus Belli
Lurkio
All to be ‘cast’ in plastic. All those in the pics above are from the Lurkio range.

ParticipantYes that’s the set mate.
I mainly use the Dark Brown on camo, and the green on Field Grey.

ParticipantTwo more, this time in Sumpfmuster 44 again, for the third squad. Two more to do to finish this squad and then just five other for the platoon HQ to be done.

ParticipantThe uniform filters come as a pack of three, on their own.
piers brand
ParticipantI use 2cent Euro coins.

ParticipantAnother two, this time finishing off the final MG team for the new platoon..
So far this week, well on course for the yearly target of one figure painted per day!

ParticipantHey ya, that’s not bad at all! Question: wheb is the Splintermuster Light Shade used? Highlighting after painting the base color and before other spots etc, or after all is painted? And, is the shader an ink for washing or is it a paint?
I apply the camo base colours then the highlights.
I then use the uniform filter, its neither a wash or a paint… it’s a very low pigment ‘stain’ with hardly any surface tension so it merely blends and discolours slightly the colours below. Brings it altogether.

ParticipantTwo more done to complete the eight man Squad…

ParticipantAnother five almost done…

ParticipantPiers, What color do you use for your base color on those British helmets?
I use the AK Interactive Olive Drab from their US Infantry colour set.
I give it a dry brush on the OD with some Ivory added an then the dark brown AK Uniform Filter over it all to blend it altogether.
piers brand
ParticipantWorking on British now…
First rifle section completed…
First figure done for the new Forward HQ, the Despatch Rider waiting to whisk a message off to Regimental HQ…
…and some rides…
piers brand
ParticipantBeautiful! What miniatures of armored vehicles do you use?
Mainly Minifigs and Timecast at the moment.
piers brand
ParticipantStarting on my platoon of Durham Light Infantry next, a project inspired by my trip to Normandy earlier in the year.
So far just the base coat and wash on the uniforms. Along with these, the next batch of British vehicles are built ready for painting…
piers brand
ParticipantLove that Centaur!!!
piers brand
ParticipantThat looks nice. How do you go about moving through that dense wooded area though?
I pick up figures… and move them through it. 😉
Still room to move infantry in there, just not vehicles!

ParticipantJust a Merc and the two drivers tonight…

ParticipantAbsolutely gorgeous! Can you clarify what period these are for? I am not as good on FJ uniforms as I should be. Crete? North Africa? Italy?
North Africa/Tunisia, into Sicily and Italy. They are in shirt sleeves and trousers.
I’m putting on a Sicily based demo game at Salute next year and needed some FJ for it… Tony as always helped out by making these literally appear out of thin air! Great adversaries for the Tropical British he is doing at the moment.

Me too… correct battle stance and faster to paint! 😉

ParticipantHoly smokes, 6 flesh tones! That’s a ton on a 20mm fig. The results are great but oh my that’s a lot of chances to goof up!
That’s what the wash is for… to cover up all my mistakes!
piers brand
ParticipantPiers, Simply WOW! That brush work is amazing. How long do you take on each one? What technique do you use for the flesh tones? It looks so realistic. Thanks Ian
A single figure is around two hours work. It’s a little quicker if you do them in groups, but I’m enjoying doing them in singles lately.
Flesh tones are doing using the AK flesh set of paints and just applied as six gradual tones with a wash of GW Riekland Flesh on the mouth and eye sockets at the end.
piers brand
ParticipantYour base ground clutter is fantastic! What is it?
Nothing more than sand off the beach… 🙂
piers brand
ParticipantAnother one done tonight…
Loving these new AB Greatcoat Germans!
piers brand
ParticipantHis base will be done when I have a few more ready…
