Trying desperately not to sound like the kid in the back of the car constantly yelling “are we there yet” but any news on Squad Hammer?
Campaign Turn Four.
See the whole battle here:
Ivan has said on his blog that a he has someone creating a unit builder. I sure hope it includes points values. I hope the game mechanics are brought up to the high standard of Hammer of Democracy allowing for support points and support units.
Hey, Tim! A unit creation tool would be really great news. I purchased HoD, but I didn’t have the time to try it out yet.
Campaign Turn Three.
Hope it’s every turn – otherwise my band has been stealing a lot of stuff at the market! (I read it as every turn too).
Good to know, Tony – Thanks! Maybe we shouldn’t tell Ivan at all… 😉
Damn… now that I’ve uploaded Campaign Turn Two, I fear I made a mistake.
The Trading Post: You get 2 Trade Points automatically
Is this a one time thing or every new campaign turn??
I might have to throw away that Sniper Rifle or the Nomad Armor… Please tell me I can keep my shiny toys! 😀
It means things like a character talking to the “camera” or talking about game mechanics “in person”.
Thanks, Ivan! 🙂

I love the 4th wall breaking, wish I knew how to do something likr this. Like the post encounter scene, your minis and terrain looks really good.
English is not my mother tongue… what do you mean when you say “4th wall breaking”? Thanks for your kind words. 🙂
This comic book style is 100% my jam. Very nicely done and glad you had a good time!
Thanks, Ivan. Usually I enjoy most of your stuff.
@all others: Thank you very much for the nice feedback. 🙂
Unfortunately there’s only one of me so I have to be kind of ruthless in picking where to put my efforts.
I’d like to ruthlessly force you to put all your efforts into the Squad Hammer Toolkit and Laserstorm 2.0 ;P
Just klick on the pics, this way I have them as big as my screen allows. 🙂
Campaign turn one is online.

Any news on the tool kit? I’d like to know if the points system is also going to get a facelift. I find the current one a little bit vague sometimes (if compared to Laserstorm for example). Which makes me want to ask: “Is there going to be a Laserstorm 2.0 any time soon?”
Take your time, I will keep myself busy with 5 klicks from the zone. 😉
Same question as Tim. I’m highly interested in the tool kit as well. Will it have a revamped points calculation system? I found the guidelines in the original Squad Hammer a little bit rough on the edges and not that clearly written. The rest is just great.
Thanks Willard, I wrote again! 🙂
Could anybody else share that unit builder, please? I would really appreciate to have a tool like that.
I base three figures on square bases of which I took two per unit. So I had six men per squad who looked like they could fit into that Rhino. 😉
I made my first solo game yesterday using old 6mm Epic 40K models. I had a mirror match between Space Marines and their chaotic counterparts. Every side had two Tactical Squads in Rhinos, one Terminator Squad in a Land Raider, two Predators and one Cybot. Playing the game was easy yet satisfying since there were enough decisions to make (f.e. “Do I continue shooting to finally take out that Land Raider or do I regroup to save my Predator from certain destruction?”) Even with having only three levels of damage (1D3, 1D6 or 2D6 and picking the better), the units felt different enough from each other. Unlike in other 6mm systems infantry felt useful and more sturdy thanks to the 6+ damage necessary for a unit’s destruction. I didn’t use even one of the advanced rules provided by the set, so there is still more to add for later games. Next time I’m gonna field to different armies (maybe Orks vs IG) with one super-heavy unit like a Baneblade or a Stompa. In summary I’d like to say that Squad Hammer plays quick, is easy to get (great for the casual gamers among your friends) and provides a lot of fun. Thanks for another cool game, Ivan!
I bought Squad Hammer yesterday and tried it out tonight, Ivan. It’s great for my purposes. I have some questions though that I allready sent you per mail. Please keep up the good work!
Thanks to both of you! I will have a closer look on that one, Jagannath. 🙂
Thanks! Ironically, I also bought Gruntz long ago, but I never managed to play it. Will give it another try, I guess! 🙂
I wrote an e-mail, but I didn’t get a response yet… I’d really like to have that unit builder. Please, please? 🙂09/11/2017 at 13:02 in reply to: Laserstorm: Suggestions for consideration in proposed revision #75905
The multiple D6 for bigger units is one the things I like best about Laserstorm, since it protects the superheavies well but also provides a chance to destroy them with a single shot. I’d like you to keep it this way, please.
And we need FLYERS! 😉08/11/2017 at 13:25 in reply to: Laserstorm: Suggestions for consideration in proposed revision #75850
I’d really like to see rules for flyers. Laserstorm is great fun, but I want to use my Fightabommas and Firebirds! I could imagine something more abstract like in Epic 40.000 (flyers appear only on the table when they are used) or a permanent presence on the battlefield like in NETepic. Either way, there are so many great 6mm models for flying vehicles that Laserstorm will always be considered “incomplete” wihtout rules for them.
