I think the new U.S. infantry will still be in metal. The preview on Breakthrough Assault implies that anyway. http://btassault.wpengine.com/incoming-intel-stripes-product-guide/

Ultra modern 15mm is still sparse enough that you still need a little bit of “thinking outside the box”.
Once the Team Yankee U.S. Rifle platoon comes out early next year I think I’ll be building a platoon strength unit.
sologamerParticipantAll of the above except the social aspect (could you guess that from my username!), but I’d live to add a bit of storytelling to it too. The story telling on this site is what I’d love to achieve – http://merlinthemad.blogspot.co.uk/
[Edit] And I put a post on my long neglected blog a few years ago about this subject – http://www.sologamer.co.uk/why-i-play-wargames-and-why-i-do-it-solo/
sologamerParticipantLoved the AAR’s Jack. I was planning to do the same thing earlier in the year (http://www.thewargameswebsite.com/forums/topic/a-new-project-retro-ambush-alley/) but real life has put it on the back burner for now. After that I have all the original scenario packs to work my way through, tying it all together in a campaign based on the BigFOF Malikastan campaign.
I hope to have everything in place to get started before 2018, the miniatures are all painted I just need some buildings.
sologamerParticipantShawn,
If you have a backup copy of the database I might be able to restore it from that if you want.Thomas
sologamerParticipantSome of the posts have been stored on the Wayback Machine but some of it is missing.
Shawn, what is the problem with the old forum? I’m a web developer and I’d be willing to have a crack at recovering any more no that I can.
