Lol. I did try to mix old and new styles a bit. Hedging my bets in case I want to use TOS Modipheus minis. The build was quick – but the sketching out took an hour or so.

Quick heads up. I’ve just put some piccies up of  some scratch built Federation rooms and corridors on the blog if anyone wants to take a decko. Confusingly the post is entitled Crossroads Motel in Spaaaace, a joke lost on anyone not from the West Midlands I suspect.

The blogs called mudbloodandsteel but there’s a link further up this page somewhere or other.

    Cheers.

If you can find the minis for it…why not try it.

I agree Max, there’s very little that couldn’t be improved with the addition of more Tribble!

Space Hulk was the entry level introduction to gaming for both of my two lads and we had great fun with it back in the day. I’m sort of aiming this project at the grandkids now, but I’m not a big GW fan so tweaked it to fit my love of Trek.

In fairness almost any other sci fi genre could be added to it with very little hassle. Colonial marines would be ideal since it’s pretty much the same as the original game…just with no GW aspect. Win win!

Thanks for your thoughts on the matter. I’d be pleased to hear if you ever have a go at your own version.

Glad you liked it too matey. To answers your questions yeah I’ll be doing Klingon and Romulan at some point in the near future since Modipheus do these races in their TNG range. The 3d terrain items won’t be here for a few days so I suspect that it’ll actually be a couple of weeks before I post another Trek game, (there’s a Neolithic Paleo Diet mission and another in my VSF campaign to run first). The time in between Trek posts will allow me to experiment with wider corridors that’ll allow multiple firing figures without further rule complications – so I’ll be doing some mock up federation ones out of foam board to see how that works.  If your buddy drops by the blog then he’ll find the rules I’ve used up on the top right of the front page. He’s quite welcome to have a go with them (print em out, mess with them etc) if the spirit moves him, lol. On that issue I would recommend downloading the Space Hulk original rules too if he doesn’t have them. If he ever has a go with them then I’d be pleased to receive a bit of feed back, good or bad.

Who am I kidding I only want to hear the good 🙂

Cheers for taking the time to check it out and post a comment!

Glad you enjoyed it Andrew and feel free to nick whatever ideas you like out of it, God knows I’ve nicked enough off other people over the years, lol.

They say always leave them wanting more. Lol. The truth of it is my regular blog followers are somewhat vanilla in their tastes and my experimentation with VSF and sci fi might be testing their patience too much. Next weeks post will bring matters to a conclusion – for this game at least,  so pop back if you get a mo.

Glad you like it Andrew. I’ve covered the adapting to phaser fire aspect by having the Borg figures shrug off a hit (by adapting their shields) if a miniature in overwatch rolls a double when firing.

Hi Craig, thanks for the heads up. I’m not sure what the problem is or was but my regular blog followers have been able to access the post directly with no problems. I suspect it may just be while approaching it through this site for some reason. Not to worry!

Same here Tony,  they sat in my cupboard until I noticed the vehicles on the fighting 15’s website and thought about combining them. Never did like the AQOTMF rules either for that matter.

Thanks Ian, that’s very kind of you to say. I’m having a lot of fun with it at the moment. Can’t think why I didn’t get into VSF before. It’ll be Martians and Prussians in the next few games, well it will be as soon as my Uhlans are finished. Anywhoo, cheers for taking a peek!
