Some really cool new stuff from Rubicon Models is on it's way to our store.
These new products have hit the US shores, have cleared customs, and will be on our doorstep later this week*.

Included in this batch of 28mm goodness is: Two new Sherman kits, and a Firefly, A British A34 Comet, Three new Panzer III kits that allow you to make about a dozen different PzIII variants, Then there is a sweet little model of a horse drawn wagon that will make a nice scenery piece. To go with the wagon they have released civilians and cargo for the wagon. Also in this release is a very interesting plastic/resin kit of a Flak 88 gun on a Panzer IV chassis. This would be a monster in any WWII game. The Armored Recovery Vehicle conversion for Sherman models looks like an awesome piece as well.
Rubicon has been locked down for months... but they have not been sitting around doing nothing, they've been creating really cool stuff.
Oh, did I mention German soldiers on bicycles... they have those too now!

*assuming no delays in transport.

Happy New Year to you all, I trust you have all had an enjoyable festive break and I hope 2020 will be kind to you and only bring small problems!

So what's the plans for 2020?
Scheithers Feikorps have gone for casting and that will bring to an end the figures required to support Charles Grants book on small actions of the Seven Years war. It will be my intention to sell units for each of the actions at a discounted price both for Charles' rules and for Sharpes Practice
After that the main focus for Richard Ansell will be sculpting models for the French Indian War - the French Marines are done and next up will be the Hurons followed by the Mohawks. I hope to have the full range finished by year end.

I am hoping Andy Stadden will return to full form this year and this will see the completion of the Saxons and quite possibly the start of a new project!!

Digital sculpts - these continue at a pace with the Austrians and Hungarians now complete - Dan is on with the Prussian Jaegers to be followed by the Grenz.

I have done test casts of all the figures in 28mm and feel a little more work is required before I release.
The 40mm project is still ongoing albeit slowly, there is a major decision to be made on how to fund this project if it is to go in production.

Other scales - I am in conversation with a couple of other people regarding producing the figures in other scales - if this does happen it will most probably be private commissions. There is also the possibility of releasing figures in resin for those that desire.

So a full year - in between all this I would still like to get the charging French infantry done and probably charging British and French horse!

I will also return to looking at releasing a small range of casualties as a lot of customers have asked for them to use as markers.
As always I am open to comments and suggestions.

Summer Newsletter – New Releases

New Releases available
Quite a few new releases are now available and what a varied bunch they are!

For the British we have a new Marine figure advancing and the long awaited Marine drummer. In addition there are a couple of pioneer figures who look well up for any task.
For the French there are dismounted French Dragoons and Compagnie Franchges de la Marine. The Marines will be great additions for the Sugar Islands and for Canada ( some variants will appear later in Canadian equipment, clothing)
A French dragoon horse holder has been made but the horses are quite ready.
There's also the first of what will be a small range of Generic Officers and ADC's first up is a chap in overcoat both mounted and dismounted with his telescope. A horse for the dismounted Officer will be appearing soon.
In addition here's a brief overview of where I hope to take us by Christmas.
Richard Ansell is being very productive and is focusing on figures for the Sugar Islands and Charles Grant's forthcoming publication on small scale actions of the Seven Years War - so Maroons and more French Light troops shortly.

Andy Stadden tragically lost his wife at the end of May, but he is making a return to sculpting and I expect to see the Saxons completed before year end - Uhlans etc.

On the digital front the Prussians have been reworked and look way better - they are currently being recast and will be in the shop soon. I am also seriously looking at making these available in 40mm and possibly 18mm and 20mm on a cast to order basis.

Crann Tara Miniatures – Mousquetaires de La Garde

The first of what I plan will be a summer of new releases.

The much anticipated Mousquetaires are here - in fact demand has been so good that I'm out of stock of troopers already! They are available on back order and more have been ordered from Griffin.

There is the command set and troopers both in cape and standard uniform.

I also decided to add a two piece vignette which I think Andy Stadden has done a first class job.

All of these are available to order in the web shop.
