10mm ACW Figure Comparison

As the owner of Good Ground, LLC there is one question I am asked most often. How does Cracker Line and Plank Road compare to X line of 10mm ACW figures. Will they match well enough to use on the same bases, in the same regiments or on the battlefield togther? The following pics are my attempt to answer these questions.

This shot is for reference, but I purposely used a model of the Snodgrass House from Buildings in Turmoil as a backdrop. His line of builings look great with my figures.

Four different lines of figures are used in this shot. My own Cracker Line and Plank Road, Magister Militum and the new ACW line from Pendraken, NOT THE OLDER LINE.

A shot from the rear will give you added perspective.

Here I have removed some of the lines for a clearer view.

This group of figures shows only Cracker Line and Plank Road. Thanks to Roger Mark for this shot.

This final shot shows the "Between the Lines" models 10mm Cemetery Gatehouse with plenty of Cracker Line and Plank Road figures in the picture.

I hope this allays any fears one might have in using the most popular 10mm lines together with my figures. As the owner of Good Ground, it is my goal to offer the customer a full line of options for troop types. I will continue to expand the lines until almost all variants are covered. At Good Ground, we are committed to quality and service. Please check the figures out by visiting my web site.

Recently I announced the arrival of all the new guns created by Toby Barrett for Good Ground, LLC. I thought I would share a few images of these guns painted and based for all to judge the quality for themselves.

M1841 Six Pounders in Battery

M1857 US Napoleon

3" Ordinance Rifle

12Lb English Whitworth - Yes, I know it should not have a rammer but I wanted everyone to see how cool the barrel was. I will do a stand-alone vignette next weekend.

10Lb Parrott (M1863)

CS Napoleon

Second Model 14Lb James Rifle

2.6" or Six Pound Wiard gun on unique carriage.

Heavy Siege carriage with five variant barrels. Pictured is the 24 pound Siege and Garrison Gun.

Good Ground’s New Artillery

Now available on the site is our new line of 10mm guns sculpted by the talented Toby Barrett. Toby is a perfectionist, and it shows in his work. We discussed the re-worked and new guns and carriages for many weeks prior to embarking on the project. The results are stunning. Most impressive are the new Wiard Carriages. This gun carriage was unique. It was designed for easy rail transport and a higher than normal barrel trajectory. Toby captured the detail of the piece brilliantly.

Toby also sculpted and re-mastered the standard gun carriages used for most all of the other pieces. The new M1841 Six Pounder barrel is superb and will be instantly recognizable by any serious student of the period. I am very proud to have these new guns in the Good Ground range. The original guns will remain available for those wishing to stay with a consistent look. However, I highly reccommend these new pieces. They are, in my opinion, the best available in this scale.

Coming soon will be a heavy siege carriage and barrel selection. We are in the final pre-production process and will be ready to go very soon. All guns come with a 4-5 man crew.

Visit our site for details.

Thanks,

Bill Moreno
