Italian Command Car

I am looking for a 6mm model of an Italian command vehicle.  I think one that was frequently used was the Fiat508CM.

(1) Does any manufacturer make a 6mm model; I have not found one?

(2) Is there a viable alternative command car?

[Heroics and Ros do the light truck version of the Fiat508 but I am seeking a command car].

I was also looking for the same and no joy. Even shapeways had nothing in our scale.

Thanks; at least it confirms the situation.  Perhaps one of the manufacturers will take note!

Anything usable as a substitute?  Heroics and Ros do a Steyr truck but not the command car!  Their Horsch command car looks like the closest equivalent but might not be suitable for the desert. Anything you might recommend?

Maybe the closest stand-in might be the Belgian FN-8 Command Car from Scotia Micromodels in their ww2 section ?

Although might be a bit big-looking.

I have a vague memory that Ian Armstrong’s Armstrong Models did one back in the day, and his stock was subsumed into the current Heroics and Ros catalogue, but maybe I’m misremembering……..

The Polish Fiat is not an exact match but should be good enough.

Two I would like to find are the AS.37 truck. The TL.37 is made by both GHQ and H&R but (the GHQ one at least) is the car body not the tuck body. Anybody know what the H&R IT16 FIAT artillery tractor looks like?

The other is the Ford station wagons (referred to as trucks) the Sonderkommando von Almaszy used. Again Scotia has US sedans US0017 Chevy Saloon cars which are close but not wagons.

Yes we can modify or scratch up but I am inherently a lazy bugger. Any help would be appreciated.

My recollection is that the H&R IT16 is a sort of tiny tracked ‘bulldozer’ -looking affair, the following:

I always thought the AS 37 looked a bit like a Humber Pig:

I wonder if you could do a conversion with a bit of filing/sanding down ?

Not the armoured but the truck style.

I realize I want trucks (or station wagons) when I can buy cars, and cars when all that I can find is trucks. How stupidly fickle. But isn’t that what being a gamer is all about?

Fickle away, old son ! – I fully agree that it is often having a case of wargamer’s itch, when you just can’t find exactly what you need….. and just can’t let it go…..  😉

You might ask Masters of Military if it something that they could make.  I asked about the 1950s vintage German Borgward B2000, and a month later, he offered it.  Lovely models too.

Well no joy on that one. They say Italian vehicles don’t sell so no interest in selling any.

Interesting input from everybody.

Inevitably it all comes down to demand: everybody will do the main tanks because they are in demand.  A bit less clear to me is the more obscure support vehicles, tankers, heavy trucks and engineering equipment.  There seems plenty of variety in those yet one would have thought demand low compared to MkV Panthers!  I am surprised that Italian command vehicles have lesser demand than some of this gear; if nobody makes the Italian stuff how do they know?

So, find a substitute according to taste, then!

As an example of making due I am using the Scotia Japanese trikes for the Italian ones in the desert. Also some of the loads of German motorcycles for Italian, although the two up use which would mean two figures on each bike is missing. Also some(?) Italian sidecars were on the opposite side (unless the photos are reversed).
