I haven’t put anything on the blog about the WW2 Naval Project in a while which doesn’t mean I’ve been idol.

There are four more ships added to the collection this month.

First up is a Liberty Ship John W Brown, next up I’ve bolstered my British Destroyers with a Tribal Class Destroyer, HMS Eskimo.

Then we have HMS Javelin a J Class Destroyer and finally a second Liberty Ship this time using a Jeremiah O’Brien kit.

All the models are from Trumpeter apart from Javelin (sold as HMS Jervis) which is from Aoshima.

Hopefully I will finish the Bismark in the next week or so. Yes I need a Car Park to play with these but I am having way too much fun with them.

For some reason, I’ve always liked the look of tramp steamers with those vertical rust marks.ย  Reminds me of my first car perhaps?ย  ๐Ÿ˜‰. Stunning work Ken!

I just had a thought – I’ve never seen it done by anyone else, but given the amazing basing you’ve done, wonder how it would look if you had a destroyer or escort heeling over in rough seas, or in a high speed turn instead of perfectly level.

And if you think that’s the most ridiculous idea you’ve ever stumbled across, then at least I hopeI get an honourable mention in next year’s Reet Big Podcast Golden Pudding for Most Idiotic Basing Idea.

Looking forward to seeing more ships. I’m hoping you’ll eventually go through all the 1/700 ships available, Hunts and smaller escorts too.

Splendid work Ken. Those Liberty ships look fantastic, as do the destroyers. Lovely models.

Both of the destroyers you have built survived having their bows blown off by a torpedo from a German destroyer in 1940: Eskimo at Narvik and Javelin in the Channel (losing her stern at the same time). I presume that’s a coincidence.

I have several Trumpeter 1/700 Tribal class waiting to be built, but nowhere great to store them if I do build them. ๐Ÿ™
