Last night I introduced another new player to Squad Hammer, and also got my first taste of the new changes in Core. Also note worthy is that this is the first time in forever I brought out my 28mm stuff to play with! I used a mix of my mostly painted Imperial Guard (or whatever they cal them now) and AT-43 models I recently got at a swap meet, and my opponent busted out his Imperial Fists which also haven’t hit the table long while. I mostly didn’t even bother to teach him the rules before starting. We just kinda… played! And he had the first turn no less ๐
We stated out as such (using Jason Smith’s card maker):
And here are the few pics we took of the battle…
We fought over 5 pieces of terrain, scoring 1 point for each one we controlled at the beginning of our turn. In the end I lost, 10 to 11. He’d also killed 4 of my 11 units while I’d only killed 1 ๐
Another fun game and another Squad Hammer convert!

That looked a fun game.
Do you have a link to the card maker you used please?

Cool table. If it’s fun, even when you lose, that’s a good time. ๐

Your ice table looks outstanding!
Having the “half sized” squads of 5 guys looks really good, I think.
I’m so used to seeing 40K tables with 10+ guys per squad, but that works really well.
Not teaching the rules first is the Hammer Way ๐
