(Please remember the context – this is preliminary, draft, box art, and yes, I know the cam on the M1 aint right…)

ParticipantI’m hopeful……but BF has burned me before..

ParticipantThis seems to represent the US on the offensive! That alone makes it interesting to me. The majority of Cold War Goes Hot scenarios are about the unstoppable Soviet throwing back the outnumbered and outgunned Allies, which started to bore me after the first five hundred games.

Well, yes, some of the scenarios in the novel send Team Yankee out on a deep counterattack against the Sov MSR…

ParticipantLooking at giving it a go, see artwork with Sovs equipped with T-72 and BMP-2, does not give one much confidence.

ParticipantJust out of interest, I had a Team Yankee boardgame published in 1987. The scenarios were straight from the book.
Here is a link to the front face of the countersheet (you can click onto a larger version) which gives an indication of an order of battle for both sides.

ParticipantHopefully they will get the final artwork right!
The book seems to have the Sovs equipped with T-62 and T-72. T-62 had been withdrawn by the early 80s and both GSFG and CGF were equipped with either T-64 or T-80.

ParticipantThe aircraft and Helicopters look good, no word on the scale. They will show arty next time.
18/08/2015 at 12:58 #29474irishserb
ParticipantThe aircraft do look nice, but I fear that they will be 1/144, which will do me no good.
18/08/2015 at 14:45 #29477GeoffQRF
ParticipantIf they follow the same pattern as previously, the helicopters will be 1/100 but the aircraft will be 1/144. There was something odd about the Frogfoot that I am still trying to put my finger on – I think it may be the canopy and the wing roots.
Meanwhile Chas is remoulding our Russian/Soviet tanks… especially the T-64s 😉

ParticipantWell your FROGFOOT is just outstanding, and should scale up nicely with the BF Helos!

ParticipantI am still hopeful that Team Yankee will not suck.

ParticipantIt’s a rerun of some of BF’s old art with M-1’s….I know…I know….but there is always Modern 5 Core Company Commander…

ParticipantSoviet T72s and BMP2s in 1985 in opposite CENTAG?
Well its is based on a novel I guess…

ParticipantIf you want to game it, and replace the T-72s and BMP-2s with T-64s and BMP-1s… you know where to come 🙂
