Came across a trio of photos showing both Allies and Axis forces towing “liberated” civilian camping trailers (“caravans” in the UK) during the War. Seems like these would be brilliant for objectives, if not something to put onto the table as rear HQ.

02/09/2018 at 02:54 #98281EtrangerParticipantThe German ‘model railroad’ companies (eg Preiser, Busch) will make suitable models.
02/09/2018 at 06:40 #98290Wyatt the OddParticipantFunny thing, Etranger, is that I game in 1/87. I’ve done a quick look and not found a 1930s-40s model yet. Of course, I’m not entirely positive that I’d know what to look for aside from the lack of propane tanks on the front.

eg this one from Wiking02/09/2018 at 13:22 #98317grizzlymcParticipantLooks great, and the car in OD would make a great command vehicle.
02/09/2018 at 17:15 #98332CerdicParticipantThat’s all well and good, but can you play conkers with ’em?
02/09/2018 at 18:24 #98342Wyatt the OddParticipantI found the Wiking one, but I think the two-tone is almost exclusively post-war.
Eko (of Spain) offers this one https://www.walthers.com/single-axle-camping-trailer-2-color-finish-assembled

Wiking also have this in OO

Obvious contrarian and passive aggressive old prat, who is taken far too seriously by some and not seriously enough by others.
02/09/2018 at 19:19 #98348madmanParticipantHere are some suitable trailers for 6mm
And some potential campers (caravans?)
A little smaller
And this one looks good for a long trip, maybe even to Beverly, Hills that is;
I am sure other companies make similar but I had quick access and good pictures to the above.

It’s a 1950’s Volvo & the Swedes did indeed use them as staff cars.

03/09/2018 at 18:06 #98423madmanParticipantha, reminds me of Kelly’s Heroes and the yacht!
I have only seen Kelly’s Heroes a couple times and don’t remember a boat. I do remember one in Hogan’s Heroes though!
