Came across a trio of photos showing both Allies and Axis forces towing “liberated” civilian camping trailers (“caravans” in the UK) during the War. Seems like these would be brilliant for objectives, if not something to put onto the table as rear HQ.

An International halftrack of the REME “Polar Bears” startles a civilian on the road to Utrecht in the Netherlands in April 1945.

The German ‘model railroad’ companies (eg Preiser, Busch) will make suitable models.

Funny thing, Etranger, is that I game in 1/87. I’ve done a quick look and not found a 1930s-40s model yet. Of course, I’m not entirely positive that I’d know what to look for aside from the lack of propane tanks on the front.

The earliest ones I could find on a quick look were c1950 by the look of them, but they might well be a suitable starting point.

I found the Wiking one, but I think the two-tone is almost exclusively post-war.

It’s a 1950’s Volvo & the Swedes did indeed use them as staff cars.

I have only seen Kelly’s Heroes a couple times and don’t remember a boat. I do remember one in Hogan’s Heroes though!
