ParticipantI am having a real hard time finding many 28mm female figs in Regency or Napoleonic garb, in either “male” clothing or common women’s garb. Lots of Late Victorian and Edwardian figs, some rather steam punky which is fine but I really need some additional “mages” and adventeresses in appropriate period garb for horror RPGing set during the Peninsular War. Late Victorian just doesn’t cut it for my costume expert wife.

KeymasterI am no expert but Black Pyramid may have some stuff if you fancy a rummage through the website?

ParticipantHow about Elite https://elitewargamesandmodels.com/product-category/28mm/28mm-female-napoleonics/
Annie (the Dice Bag Lady) has Hulda – could be used for the ‘doctor / medic’ https://badsquiddogames.com/shop#!/Hulda-Herbalist/p/96094680/category=21735087
My only other thought is one of the 40K 3rd party suppliers may have torsos for the Imperial Guard that could be used – would put a link in but my mind has gone blank on who does these. I think they where resin.

was it Anvil Industry you were thinking about? If memory serves me they have some female bits and pieces in the regiments range I think?

It was indeed – specifically https://www.anvilindustry.co.uk/female-cross-belt-torsos
Not quite as close as I remember them TBH.

ParticipantBrigade Games (USA) have a “Civilian Lady on a Horse” in their Napoleonic range: https://www.brigadegames.com/Napoleonic_c_278.html . The dress style should please your lady’s costume sensibilities.

ParticipantOne way to approach it would be do some head swaps. I doubt that you’d notice much shape differences between men and women in period uniforms.
You could also look among figure lines that are U.S. centered and about the same period. You might find pioneer women from the FIW, AWI, ACW wearing utilitarian clothing that could pass in Europe, and maybe with some weapons.
Pirate lines might be another place to look.
Here is a link to a forum post on civilians/characters for the peninsular war for Sharp Practice that might be useful:
https://toofatlardies.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9743
And Saskatoon Mini Gamer’s blog has a couple groups of armed women from various sources:

Not sure if any of those help! Good luck!

ParticipantHow about Alternative Armies Flintloque range, or their Alternia, their Scots mascot?
Also, there is the Wargamers Hot & Dangerous line http://www.wargameruk.com/hot-and-dangerous
Trent Miniatures (Skytrex) have a few, such as Jemima Nicholas (Welsh heroine – could easily change her pitchfork into a staff), Madame de Bulkekey, Mademoiselle Regrenil the hussar or Marie-Jeanne, et al.

ParticipantThose Hot and Dangerous are fun…for me, but my wife might think them a bit too pin up for her taste! (a problem with pirate figs as well) I am hoping for a more Bad Squiddo approach, less exposed double D cleavage as it were.
By the way, I am looking for figs available to the US

ParticipantBlack Pyramid have had restocks lately, making most of their female figures available again. & if you ask about others, they might just have forgotten to update the website. That happened to me, and they were really helpful about it. Now I’ve got a substantial sample, I’m happy to say they’re really nice models too. Main Silver Bayonet-appropriate line here:

ParticipantHave you tried SYW figures? Some civilians could be used
30/03/2022 at 23:32 #170686Aethelflaeda was framed
ParticipantMost SYW civilians I have seen have been more comical than heroic and garbed for the ballroom. I am looking for rather “outdoorsy” garb and/or armed.
I just ordered some green stuff. I think i may try my hand at sculpting my own.
