One of the neatest wargames I have played in the last couple of years that combines a board game with the use of a standard card deck is “Battle over Britain” and “Battle over the Pacific” from Minden Games . These are both very clever air games that are very compact as they can be carried in a pocket with a deck of cards. Primarily one-on-one play, but the perfect coffee house or pub game! They cost about $13.95 direct from the author. I have no connection to Minden, but can really recommend both of these games. Give them a look! See:
There’s an interesting print and play WW1 air card game on boardgamegeek here:
I haven’t heard of Minden Games before but they’ve got some really interesting-looking stuff. (Not sure about the idea of playing in a coffee house or pub though.)
