THE REGIONAL DEFENCE FORCE
Alpha Squad
Bravo Squad
Charlie Squad
Delta Squad
MS1 Pathmaster
RDF Base
JUNKER DRILLING STATION
Scratch Built ObjectiveANVIL GATE
JUNKER INSURGENT TRUCKSHere are all 4, some shiny and done proper and some not so shiny and done the Junker way.
I have managed to make myself a little scenery piece.
It uses metal models, resin models and printed models. It is Steve Chang’s broadcasting studio for his independent TV channel; KR TV.
The tower is from Brigade Models and is printed in WSF.
WSF is for most things appallingly bad due to its very rough finish, however for things like corroded masts, it looks just right.
It is easy to get a pitted rusted look.
(The ladder is an accessory from a train model, N gauge I think)Steve’s skimmer is from C in C.
I have painted it up using a different style to how I normally do.
I have gone for exaggerated almost comic book style highlighting.
I do like the look but am not sure it fits with my overall style. The skimmer is the Skywalker model made by MCP (Mazda Consumer Products.)
We can see that Steve has left it on as it is still hovering. The actual building is my small Junker Dwelling.
Ideal as a simple structure for out in the badlands away from prying eyes.Stand by for more…

Updated the KR TV station:
Restoring a Bullfrog amphibious 4×4 back to its civilian state.
The Junker Insurgents use the Bullfrog pick up and convert it using their techie know-how into military vehicles:
However the master model was designed as the civilian version first, as such it is dead easy to convert it back to its civilian state.First get the 2 parts, chop off the support jack.
Then file off the greebles.
This takes about 60 seconds or so.
Then stick it in place and prime, you are good to go!
This will be one of many I shall be converting.

02/08/2014 at 11:45 #2764HaarkenParticipantFantastic pictures AB. The whole setting is absolutely amazing and really inspiring, in fact I’m currently cooking up a 6mm sci fi project of my own. I’m really looking forward to seeing more of this project.
02/08/2014 at 11:56 #2770AnonymousInactiveNice pictures. I have some of your stuff I believe waiting painting.

With bases done. The transports are from Darkest Star but I hope you don’t mind them hitching a ride with the competition 🙂
06/08/2014 at 10:31 #3519AnonymousInactiveNice, might want to get some to complement my other figures in 6 mm. Looks like they might make a greta set of shorter humanoids for my 15 mm forces to encounter too.
07/08/2014 at 05:25 #3654Yukon5GParticipantLovely. Just lovely. Thanks for sharing.
Sink meh!

Thanks, I try to do stuff that makes sense and no-one has done before.
Oh!!
You mean the tall man with scarf, based on my uncle that one.😀
10/08/2014 at 22:31 #4010venusboys3ParticipantI’ve always liked this stuff. Great to see it all in one place!
11/08/2014 at 21:36 #4070Angel BarracksModeratorWIP.
Stonehaven building, first of the second batch.
Not all Stonehaven buildings are made from scrap.
Some started as traditional simple adobe style buildings.
But then as the community grew so did peoples habitats. This one started as a simple adobe but then as Stonehaven grew, he used his mechanic skills to open up a garage, as such he needed to expand his house into a workplace.
What we have now is a hybrid second stage dwelling that is both stone and salvage, home and business.Expect more along this theme.
12/08/2014 at 21:01 #4178Ivan SorensenParticipantLoving these. More 6mm scifi buildings, yes 🙂
23/08/2014 at 16:49 #5582Angel BarracksModerator25/08/2014 at 16:11 #5787CosmotigerParticipantNice, looks utilitarian, but still has a little bit of a sci-fi appearance.
31/08/2014 at 14:26 #6606Angel BarracksModeratorZippy Couriers was the first ‘hybrid’ building in Stonehaven.
Most are either of stone construction or scrap metal.
Zippy Couriers is both.Zippy Couriers started as a simple stone structure, but as business grew, Scooter (the owner) needed to expand.
He wanted Zippy Couriers to stand out, so he expanded upwards!Using scrap from the Marco Polo, a crashed commercial space vessel, he made Zippy Couriers the magnificent business it is today.
02/09/2014 at 13:34 #6853Angel BarracksModeratorI have just added a PDF of Points Values for KR 16 to my forum:
http://angelbarracks.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=88
It is not a definitive points cost, more of a guide, it should prove useful though to those that like points.
Hopefully…04/09/2014 at 13:11 #7060Angel BarracksModeratorRight then, as people said they liked the Stonehaven hybrid buildings I have started the shells of 2 more.
The bigger 1 will have the extension in scrap metal and the main body in stone.
The smaller 1 will be mostly stone but with some high tech trappings, the Soper generator and metal shutters as well as the recessed metal door etc.09/09/2014 at 02:19 #7647CatalystMinisPaintingParticipantvery nice
Painter from 6mm all the way up! contact me if you want some work done!
Also working on learning sculpting and plan to open my own lines late this year/early next

11/09/2014 at 20:34 #8018Angel BarracksModeratorRight then…
I have confirmed the final shape.
It has a larger footprint and is taller too.I think it will be around 4 pieces or so.
The buildings that have walls around the roof area will be the stone parts, the other will be the metal add ons.I have pushed back the rear wall to make better use of space and it also makes a neat little parking area. (I think my own version will have a little piece of cloth hung between the buildings to keep the Rhino out of the midday sun!)
I found an old Shapeways gate I did so will use that too.
It will be a beast once done but it will I reckon make a very cool compound/base/stronghold.14/09/2014 at 08:25 #8260moredakkaParticipantHi Michael just signed up here per your request elsewhere on the web. You do get around on this internet thing don’t you.
By the way my rhinos will not fit in that parking space due to being on bases but hey that’s not a problem i will still be getting a few of these.
Regards

"I saw this in a cartoon once, but I'm pretty sure I can do it..."
23/09/2014 at 19:37 #9255Angel BarracksModeratorHere we can see more 2 of the ‘hybrid’ buildings of Stonehaven.
More permanent structures made initially from stone and then extended with scrap metal.
Here is a typical simple dwelling, a stone construction with a metal roof and a metal ‘soper’ generator on the rear.
Here is what started out as a simple dwelling, then an extension was added using left over scrap from Scooter when he upgraded Zippy Couriers.

Can’t decide if it’s going to be an outback settlement or maybe a crimelord stronghold for my favela , definately on my “Want!!!” list though.
May have to get some of that liquid greenstuf for when I start my alien village project.
Do you just paint it on or does it need a special primer?
09/10/2014 at 13:47 #10332Angel BarracksModeratorCan’t decide if it’s going to be an outback settlement or maybe a crimelord stronghold for my favela
I have that dilemma too.
I am thinking it will be an urban base for my Stonehaven board, but then a remote settlement is cool too.Do you just paint it on or does it need a special primer?
Just slap it on.
Needs a few coats to get a nice texture but so easy to work with.10/10/2014 at 13:12 #10406Angel BarracksModeratorWell it is pretty much done.
The only things that need doing to make it ready will not be visible in these shots (more green stuff work on holes and wall texture and varnishing) so you may as well see the pre-money shots. It will be moulded over the weekend and ready for sale at the end of the month, pre-orders however will be in about 10 days…
20/10/2014 at 19:08 #10969Angel BarracksModerator21/10/2014 at 18:46 #11016Thaddeus BlanchetteParticipantBeautiful stuff, man! Every time I see your set-up. it pushes me that much closer to 6mm sci-fi skirmish. Tho only reason I haven’t succumbed so far is that I don’t like any of the 6mm infantry out there. But I’m getting closer and closer… Planetfall might actually push me into 10mm, using 6mm terrain.
We get slapped around, but we have a good time!
21/10/2014 at 18:57 #11018MikeKeymaster26/10/2014 at 16:47 #11254Rules Junkie JimParticipantOK, I’ll bite…
I’d like to see some “colonial militia” type infantry in 6mm. Little or no body armour, maybe helmets but more likely caps. Perhaps slightly dishevelled. I’d also like to see cavalry.
