Please see here for a Polemos SPQR refight of a scenario published in Miniature Wargames 91, with an attack on an escorted Roman convoy moving through some woods “somewhere in Gaul”…http://hereticalgaming.blogspot.co.uk/2017/10/polemos-spqr-gallic-wars-ambush.html
Whirlwind, many thanks for sharing this. The game looks like a fun one (it will be interesting to see how it goes the other nine times), and it was amusing to see the Roman skirmishers chased off the Gallic warriors; the barbarians seem to have been a poor-spirited bunch. Perhaps a new chief is in order and Incompetix will be out of a job.
I doubt I can get my hands on that issue; would you mind giving in a nutshell what the other two scenarios are? I’m brewing up a Rome vs. Gauls project myself and am on the hunt for good scenario ideas. Are there other tongue-in-cheek elements besides the names?
Thanks again for sharing.
Thanks very much GF. Yes, the Romans seemed to have a little of the rub of the green in that battle.
The other two scenarios are an attack on a defended Gallic village / stronghold and then an attack on the legionary camp. One or both of these is likely to feature in due course.
All the best
Thank you for the scenario information. I’m currently nicking ideas from all quarters, so anything is helpful to get the juices going. Needless to say, I’d love to learn more about them if you ever put them on tabletop.
Great looking battle and figures

Thanks 6mm.
GF, the attack on the Gallic village is almost certain to make it to the table sometime over the next month.
