One of the games played this month at the DWG was this ‘cloak and daggers’ raid on one of Rommel’s key fuel staging areas.

02-Hundred has some very interesting game mechanics to recreate the stealth required in these small scale WWII era raids and encounters, and I know the chaps had fun playing the game.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about this game, but as a personal thing, I quite like painting figures but never have enjoyed making terrain.  (Perhaps because I’m awful at it, which just might be because I rarely ever actually make terrain.  A somewhat circular excuse to be sure).  And this game seems quite terrain heavy and figure light.

That said, if I were offered a spot in someone else’s game, I’d be in there in a hot second!  That looked like a tremendous game, full of boys’ own heroics!  I admire a player who plays in the full spirit of the rules, and for fun, and manages to flout all probability.

    Hi Tony,

I was not familiar with the game until I met Matthew playing it at the Plymouth show in February, and then seeing it played at club, Matthew having recently joined us, and thus getting a better appreciation of its interesting mechanics.

Yes, I think you are correct in your assessment about the terrain requirement, which in yours and others with a similar aversion might be off putting, I on the other hand with an enjoyment in producing the look of a game with eye-catching terrain find it very appealing on both counts of the game itself and the look it produces, and I suppose a mitigating factor might be the use of the mdf components and 3D printed models that help make the look a little easier to achieve.

    Thanks for your comment

It reads like a really good time.  The target looks great too.  Also kind of cool that the raiders aren’t overpowered to make the game too easy.
