1st Corps

Latest release towards our 28mm WW2 Range.

1st Corps WW2 British Infantry.

Originally released in the 90’s these have been out of production for quite a while.

These figures are suitable for campaigns from 1942 onwards. They are wearing the 1937 pattern webbing, which was used throughout the Second World War, and are carrying the Lee-Enfield No. 4 rifle, which was produced from 1940 onwards. Also they have the entrenching tool attached to the webbing, which was reintroduced in 1942 after being fazed out in 1937.

British Infantry Command £3.00

British Infantry Section 10 figures inc Bren gunner. £10.00

Supplied unpainted.
We’ll be expanding this range in due course.

First WW2 Releases From Baccus

At long long last, we have released the first codes in our World War 2 range. These cover basic infantry for the British, German and US forces, all from 1944. The Igor has quite rightly muttered darkly that we should have waited until the LMGs and light mortars were available too, but I get the feeling that if we'd have put off any longer, Angry Mob Inc. would have been gathering outside the workshop pitchforks a-waving and torches a-flaring.

The vital point to note is that this is just the start. There's lots of stuff coming behind the infantry,

If you want to get an idea of what to expect, the Great War range took just 14 months to grow from just three codes to where it is now and we've got much bigger plans for the Second World War.

You can see all the details here link

We'll have these with us Vapnartak in York this coming weekend. Because of my usual lack of efficiency I've not got the show calendar up on the site which means that you've not been able to place any pre-order. We will definitely be at the show in our normal spot, amply provided with the new codes as well as all the old favorites. If you want to place a pre-order for collection, then please do so, but you'll have to do so by email at the usual culprit of [email protected]

A Sergeant’s War Updated

I have updated A Sergeant’s War by adding a few new rules, refining some of the game mechanisms, and reorganizing the rule book to make it easier to read and reference.  I've added a new scenario (bunker busting!).  I also decided to dispense with the pictures embedded in the text—there’s plenty of pretty eye candy on the internet and, really, are you buying a set of rules online via PDF for the artwork or for the game play?

The rules are available here

A brief synopsis of the rules:

Fast play—2 hours or less

Easy combat mechanics—infantry fire, anti-tank fire, and close-range firefights all use the same basic to-hit mechanic

Importance of leaders—your squad and platoon leaders are critical to keep your force fighting, but every time they do something significant, they might get hit by enemy fire

Solo-friendly

Emphasis on units over individuals—players focus on the placement of squads, tanks, and heavy weapons, not individual riflemen

Can be played with any scale of miniatures and any type of basing

This book contains:

Rules for infantry and vehicle combat

Artillery and air support

Special terrain rules for bocage, urban combat, fighting in forests, and more

Special combat rules for human wave assaults, night fighting, chaos and confusion, and more

Tips for designing scenarios

8 scenarios

Orders of battle the US, German, Soviet, British, Italian, Japanese, and French armies

Vehicle and gun stats for 1940-1945

Markers for pinned, broken, and other game conditions

If you’re on the fence about buying the rules—the wargaming world is not exactly starving for WWII rules!—I will be releasing a free, introductory version of the game soon and will announce the release here.

Thanks!
