Things that are gaming related but of no real value, except maybe as a whimsical distraction.

*Spend 7 weeks researching correct uniform colours, pay 200 dollars for reference materials and mail ordering the exact paint colour required.

*Find the memoirs of a soldier in the campaign. Read it.

*He says they all looked like mud-caked hobos clad in rags.

    *Cry.

Whimsy? Cleaning the hobby area up and then forgetting where you put things. Then you bring everything back out until you have it all close to hand. Tending towards entropy is inevitable I suppose and my enthalpy brings my cleaning/organising energy state to near zero. So getting a grip on the organised disorder that is my hobby room is just whimsy for me.

Cheers and good gaming in a midden.

Spend two hours looking for my glasses only for my wife to find them in the bottoms pit of her handbag.

I make my own blend of black Ceylon, genmaicha, VMC Saddle Brown and AP Quickshade Strong Tone.

P3 Skorne Red also goes well with a really smoky lapsang souchong, I’ve found.

A nice looking game but why would you put a cup of liquid on table when you are gaming with paper models??????????????????????, horror is not the word.

My first thoughts were why is the river running diagonally across the battlefield?  Yes, it might make for a more interesting challenge, but it bears no resemblance to reality.  That’s what jarred with me.  And then I noticed the drinks etc. cluttering up the table!

You know those little sealable bags which you get your newly purchased wargaming products in?
    (Rhetorical question I think).

Well, remind me to take out shares in the company which makes them.

Sorry, the drugs trade has already cornered that market. 🙂

Just ordered some more green stuff from Troll Trader. This is to replace the stuff I had before that mysteriously disappeared, I’ve looked everywhere.  That was to replace green stuff that vanished back along. I’ve had three lots of green stuff  mysteriously vanish without a trace. When he next lot comes I’m going to lock it away in my gun cabinet each time I’ve finished modelling. Then I would like to see the ruddy stuff disappear again.

On another note, today I was busy fitting a new washing machine. I had to keep refitting the belt on my other one. So I got a new one. Anyway, this isn’t a laundry forum so I’ll shut up about the specifics of that. When I pulled a spanner from the side pocket of my tool bag. In order to take out the transit bolts and little silver thing came out with it. Inquisitively I picked it up and it turned out to be a 6mm character mini. One of many I ordered from AB when he still doing his 6mm SF. At the time I was looking everywhere for it! Now, what the hell was it doing in my tool bag all this time?

    Honesty, forget the Bermuda Triangle.

I so regret not buying a full set of Mike’s character miniatures. Probably my only 6mm related regret.

I hadn’t realised CP was selling those characters. I will have to make an order.

Oh yes. Everything I sold and more. But also buy 15mm fantasy instead…

I recently got a hankering for 15mm Myceneans. No logical reason, and no opponents, but I just fancied it. I think it’s the shields. So I bought a metric kilo or two, and placed them ready to sort, base paint etc and after a few weeks realised I was not gonna get round to them any time soon. I open my ‘unpainted 15mm’ crate and there, sat on the top, was the Kilopile of 15mm Myceneans I bought last time I got a hankering.

    I just turned 50.

I did the same thing, but with 3mm.  Bought a whole bunch of stuff to make a USMC task force for Vietnam:  LVT5Ps, M-48s, recovery vehicles, jeeps, trucks, artillery pieces, infantry, CH-34 and CH-46 helos, the works… basically doubled exactly what I had ordered 2 years before.

    Where’s that “face palm” emoji…?

I look at that and all I can think is: “Fruit of the Loom; the Crusades”  … soon available for Total War…
