Interesting piece.
The way the BBC reported the decision to just sample six remains suggests a missed opportunity though.
Three English, two Netherlands (but with possible English descent – from isotope studies?) and one German. ‘As it was a mass grave and they all died under the same circumstances, a sample of six was sufficient’ apparently.
It would have been nice to know if it was seventy nine English, one German and two Anglo-Dutch(?) or any other combination, and if any Scots, Welsh, Northern English, Irish, etc had sneaked in as well.
I suppose another 76 tests would have cost a fair bit of money.
