What a fantastic post… brought back a lot of memories of my early efforts at wargaming. Some (all?) of my “scenarios” were ludicrous, the painting abysmal and the scenery… oh, the scenery. I once made a ACW fort from cardboard cut from the back of a file pad and decorated with blue biro. The fun I had with games back then I’ve never managed to match since.
