Thanks McKinstry, yep it’s perfect for Corp actions and that’s one of the main reasons I really like it. I think if you’re going to do Napoleonics, do it big!

Cheers! They are part of a larger 100 Day Campaign build that I’ve been working on for the last Two years now, so they will be used in that. I have the Anglo-Allied I & II Corps, plus the Brunswickers and the French I & II & Imperial Guard Corps completed so far… Bit more to do yet!

I know what you mean, but he had pretty high streets smarts in the RPG if I recall. I always wondered why he didn’t stand out like a sore thumb on the streets of MC1..

The Solomon camo is an excellent example of the variation in tank colours in the First World War, but as far as I know the Bovvington tanks were completely stripped of paint before being repainted, removing all original traces.

NKL, yes, there would have been a massive variation on the colour schemes, mostly due to pigment, paint mixing, weathering, application, and local or wider orthodoxies, amongst other variables and this colour really only represents this specific tank at this specific time (a Mark II in 1917). That said, there are accounts that the German guns had a field day with the British tanks at Bullecourt as their dark paint stood out like a sore thumb in the snow, so we can guess that this tranche of tanks were painted similarly during this action, at least.

I know, isn’t it? Remember though that this is the specific colour of this particular tank, others probably had different schemes.

I certainly enjoyed the game, but it’s a good point. I guess that’s the issue with a card driven game, there are only ever going to be a certain amount of outcomes, decided by the luck of the draw. But then, the challenge is in playing with the hand you’re dealt.

It’s a great present and it will be painted, although my other half wants it painted with flowers, I’m more inclined for a three tone ’43 pattern myself…

TBH at this point I haven’t played it enough to see how many times it’s replayable, so I take both of your points on board, Gavin and Martin. It may be a well that runs dry quickly, or one that keeps on giving! I’m just not sure!

Thank you, the green on the figures bases is the exact same green as the rest of the base, it’s just that the rest of the base has been inkwashed and drybrushed! It’s hard to get that to work between the figures’ legs….

Thanks for the kind comments everyone! Patrice, yes, Allan Jaques (DRAC) was really pleased with our work when he came on site. We had the full support of the Bullecourt commune as well, they really enjoyed having us working close by!

Thanks Cerdic, it didn’t look like it. My personal assessment of the situation was that the two bodies had been deliberately covered by the tank track. Maybe they had been lying out in the open for a while and were a bit grisly, so were covered up or it was used as a grave marker. I’m sure there is more of the tank, but probably scattered around the rest of the field.

I agree with most here. Suggesting another range of figures is grand (I doubt very few of us don’t mix and match anyway), just slagging off a companies figures when they have just posted about them is not cool. Constructive criticism,  on the other hand…
